Goff is on like the most loaded team in the league when looking at both sides of the ball and that can't be ignored

Dak plays great on a stacked team: "Clearly this guy is being carried by his supporting offense, dude is lucky to be considered an average starter..."

That's the kind of shit I read constantly online.

Goff has arguably the best supporting offense, defense, and coaching system as a whole of anyone in the league and Dak played circles around him since we got Cooper with a worst situation at pretty much every level and I rarely ever hear anything about it.

I am saying the opposite - Dak’s stats are stronger than his skillset would suggest due to continuity & a strong running game, just like any other QB (including Goff) and that does not necessarily mean he’s better than say, Derek Carr just because he’s performing worse on a dysfunctional team

 

Ben will not be worse than Dak this year. Dak throws less INTs than Ben, that's the only thing he's better at.

 

Well, as that chart that sparked this shows, he's significantly better at throwing a deep ball.

 

I think Ben and Dak are similar, but Ben has the edge on him.

More favorable to high production yes. But it also has higher expectations of the QB and leans on the QB more to influence the tempo of the game.

Dak has had maybe 2 months of bad OL play in his career. I’m sorry but I don’t think he’s had it that rough. He still has had Dez, Amari Cooper, Jason Witten, he’s had weapons.

 

We already had this argument. Dak gets himself into a lot of sacks because his pocket presence is awful. That’s one of the primary pillars in my belief that he’s not a top half QB. His errant running helps but also simultaneously hurts the team.

 

Typing it out like this isn't truthful to the point where it feels like you're purposefully obfuscating things.

Our line has been injured/out/bad for the last year to a year in a half at pass blocking. Full stop.

Dez and Witten in 2017 were not quality starters and in 2016 were mainly just pretty good. They were not their 2010-2014 selves at all.

Amari has only been here half of one season and once he was, Dak was in the top ten in most categories for QBs.

 

Then why would you rank him above Dak? Can't judge based off one year.

No, I’m saying all those QBs stats are inflated, and so I don’t take the stats quite as seriously as what I see on a play by play basis. Dak just has a lot more ugly plays and gets to dance around like a fool back there half the time

 

I'll flat out say it: Dak gets judged harsher than other quarterbacks in extremely comparable situations because he's a Cowboys player. It happened to Romo his entire career and surprise surprise: people finally started LOVING him as soon as he wasn't in the league anymore. Both for his commentary and for how good of a player he was.

Goff and Wentz have had a much, much better supporting offense and/or coaching more often than Dak has but they never get criticized for it. I wonder why? Hmm...

I think if you take Elliott away and stop repeatedly catching teams out f position with play action that you’d see Dak’s issues start to really affect the game
