I was still cool with the Jags honestly hahaha they just never felt threatening even after sweeping

But I was so tired of @Randall Mentzos and @CarpetElf during that stretch

Can’t really relate to that cause I hate getting dunked on by Andrew Luck, Peyton Manning, players that talked zero shit hahaha. Doesn’t really matter to me. They’re either outwardly cocky or quietly perfect, but it’s annoying if you can’t stop someone either way

Idk Peyton Manning talked shit just not to the media haha

Luck is an anomaly, I love him

    The rivalry is back on

Hahah I agree with this. Peyton would drive me crazy if he wasn’t my team’s QB (but he is so I love him), and Luck is just a gem

Losing teams need that swagger to get back into a winning mentality. It’s more pervasive than you’d think when it comes to team chemistry. An air of confidence and pride helps the team morale, to avoid being shellshocked when the game swings against them. It keeps them focused on what they know how to do well instead of being indecisive and trying to compensate for too much outside of their confident range. I fully support Baker Mayfields and Jalen Ramseys taking joke teams, and just exuding a contagious faith that no one can stand in their way of being competitors.

One big hit or one ballsy throw can energize the whole team and set a tempo for them to follow to carry their own weight. Seeing a lot of effort from a good player makes you feel lazy if you get tired or take plays off by comparison, and football players are too proud to allow themselves to feel like they aren’t keeping up.

I also don't think the Jags are as Cinderella story-esque as the Browns anyway, Jags might be a laughingstock right now but for a team as new as they are they haven't exactly been that bad

And also never got relocated (to this day)

Browns already have Morgan Burnett and Eric Murray at SS and Damarious at FS. It's hardly a need right now.

I’d rather have Jones than Burnett if you’re gonna go with a veteran haha but it’s not madden and you already have contracts

    Jags 4-0*** Prestigious

2008-2016 we were horrible, not just bad. One great year that fell back down to 6-10 is not really a consolation for being literally one of the 4 or 5 worst teams in the league for THAT long

I’m not really bothered to look it up but something like 11 if the last 12 years we’ve had a top 10 pick

For me, I have been waiting since my teenage years to see a competitive Jags team, so I do feel vindicated if we do well.

If we go with a veteran, I'd rather have Burnett at 2 yrs/$7.5 million with no dead cap issues than (older) Jones at 3 yrs/~$48 million with $10.2 and $4.045 gtd in 2020-2021.

    In comparison to...the Browns though?

They have had 10 wins once since reinstatement and they still missed the playoffs that year. In that time the Jags have had 4 10+ win seasons and went to 2 AFC Championships. That's really not THAT bad.

And yes this is all comparative to the Browns because we're discussing whether or not Cinderella stories help make certain personalities more or less likeable and Cleveland is the starting point of the discussion. But yeah in general I still don't think the Jags have really suffered.

Jags are not even in the bottom 5 right now.

Bills, Lions, Dolphins, Bengals, Redskins, Bucs, Raiders, Jets and, for now, Browns would be higher in my misery index right now.

Yeah I think I'd agree with all of those

except maybe Raiders who somehow are just always unlikeable and are confident as hell no matter what

    Jags 4-0*** Prestigious

I agree with Bucs, Bills, Browns, Lions, Raiders, Dolphins, Redskins.

I definitely don’t agree with Jets and Bengals. Since 2000 they’ve been the playoffs 6 and 7 times respectively, Jets went to back to back AFCCGs even. In that time Jags had 3 playoff appearances and one of them we got bounced in the wild card round 28-3.

They have also generally both been 7-9 or better teams while the Jags were 6-10 or below for 10 of those 18 years.

Redskins, Dolphins, and Lions probably have more wins, or a similar number of wins as us since 2000... but I will admit that I’d rather have the two good playoff seasons that the Patriots ruined

So IMO since 2000 we are the #8 saddest franchise, we probably have the #5 least wins but have made the most of our two little spurts of competitiveness

Idk probably dropping down the list year after year

The Kurt Warner years definitely feel ancient now

Idk maybe they are below the Jaguars by now. Which would make us the #9 saddest team in the league... so I guess you guys are right the Jags are sad but not “pity us” sad
