What happens to the running back market if Gurley’s knees are a problem/Bell has a dud season? Rip

So I got bored and even though it's a Friday, I have a mandatory work thing tomorrow so I'm not out having drinks with all my buddies, so I figured I'd look at that running back scrimmage yards game thing.

    1. I figured it would be fair to consider all-time best scrimmage yards per game for a running back to set a minimum of 80 games played (5 full seasons' worth of games) to weed out as many short-lived outliers.

    2. I added rushing and receiving yards (and touchdowns) and then did an average total yards per game and got this list:

    3. Next I just pulled in everyone who's played at least one full seasons' worth of games using the same formulas and got this:

Right off the bat you can see that of the top ten, 7 of these guys haven't even played 5 full seasons yet, so most, if not all, of them will almost assuredly drop out once they continue playing over the next 5-10 years.

Edit: Looking at touchdowns per game was kinda of interesting as well:

    80 Games Played:

This leads me to saying that LaDainian Tomlinson is easily a top ten RB of all time and arguably could be top five.

Dude was a consistent bad ass.

Bell’s been one of my favorite players since college so I hope he does great in NY

I think with Bell it’s just the eye test. They may use him differently so stats may not matchup but you can easily see when he’s on and dynamic and when he’s not.

Bell isn’t going to have as many scrimmage yards because I think he’s going to be utilized differentally than in Pittsburgh. Like Dave said, it’s easy to tell when he’s on, and that’s going to help Darnold out tremendously even if he is off for a game or two, because defenses will still have to plan for him regardless. I don’t see him being fed carries game in and game out. I’m excited and have no real yardage expectations for him, as long as he is helping the team win, I really don’t care if he is having huge games

Ogunjobi is a good DT. He had nothing else around him on the interior and had the 5th highest snaps among D-lineman in the league last year. With that amount of work each game, I wouldn't be judging him against one of the league's top centers.
