If they're voluntary then it doesn't bother me at all.

 

When you make a big stink about how you need to get paid it matters to me IMO

I think that when you go to a new team or when you have a new coach/system, you absolutely need to be there. I don't wanna hear the bitching for months that you need to get paid and then you can't show up for 2 weeks (after being off for 4-5 months anyways)

Reshad Jones is skipping them for Miami and that rubs me the wrong way. And you can tell Flores is not happy about it either with his comments.

 

I'm both side of this. so I guess I dont care haha

 

Yeah I'm in the mind of I don't care whether or not players show up for optional training on a new team but if they miss em and end up playing bad they better not have any stupid excuses

 

like Nick Foles' wife had a miscarriage like 4 days ago and hes already back at OTAs but some of these guys are like "nah I'm good"

think about that

 

OBJ is just busy establishing the the NFL Cinematic Universe.

 

I'm not trying to tell anyone how to handle sensitive things like that but honestly being at OTAs probably helps him get through everything that happened, work as a distraction is a powerful coping mechanism

Plus there's the whole team leader dynamic that definitely doesn't apply to OBJ or Bell

Idk it just annoys me when these guys complain and bitch about being discussed in a bad light and then don't show up

and I am an OBJ defender usually

 

I gotcha, yeah I understand that feeling hahaha. I just think it ends up being results based but I also understand wanting to approach that before everything goes to shit rather than after

 

I totally get both sides of it, I just lean towards the players side.

yeah, no difference at all between the best QB of all-time who has been in the system for 20 years and players on new teams who whined about new contracts

 

If you make something voluntary I see no reason to show up, new team or not.
