At places with shitty salsa, yeah. It’s harder to mess up guac because most of the flavor is just avocado and lime lol

If you squirt lime and put a tasteful amount of garlic salt on an avocado by itself, you’d get pretty close to good guacamole taste

It really depends. If salsa is too “Chipotle”, as in too much mesquite / smoky flavor, I’m not a big fan.

If it tastes like you used tomato paste to thicken it, fuck you I can just buy Tostitos for that

But if you got that fresh ass, textured, chunky pico de gallo that burns and cools your mouth at the same time? And you put lime juice and diced chiles and minced garlic up in that shit? I’m gonna need two more bowls of that salsa and I’m gonna need a box to take my actual meal home.

 

Chuy’s has the best salsa of any major chain. I could go there just for that.

I would at a nice restaurant though. My favorite restaurant in Cleveland is mod mex and has several different variations on their guac. Their goat cheese/tomato/chile poblano is probably my favorite, with pineapple/jicama/mint/habanero and crab/pickled corn/chipotle are close behind.

I’ve made my own guac before but I don’t cook tacos that often. I should change that.
