I feel like a lot of feeling Sean Payton is overrated is the fact that he's really smug and annoying too hahaha like I feel like we all want him to be overrated

 

That's fair, yeah. His two healthy Seattle years weren't really bad though. 16 TDs and 1400 yards is pretty good.

 

Carroll is an interesting one to me because he came in to a terrible situation and almost immediately made them a Super Bowl contender and helped build one of the most dominant defenses in NFL history. I just put these rankings together using points per game averages:



That's his 9 years so far and yes, they're not as good as they were 2012 through 2016 or so, but it's still mighty impressive to have that sort of impact through great drafting, coaching, foresight, and a bit of luck.

He's had some boneheaded moments, but he's still very good, imo

 

Yeah not bad, definitely not as good though which can be attributed to (pick 1-2: Brees, Payton (can understand either argument))

Also yeah, Kerr is very good too.

 

I think Kerr is a really great coach who's underrated because that team is so stupid. Steph was kind of "just a guy" until he got there

Rick Carlisle is still coasting on who he used to be as a coach IMO but I think he's currently middle tier at least

 

Steph and Klay is just so fun. And Kerr is a cool dude. It's not like it's the Patriots and Brady.

 

Brad Stevens solidly in tier 2 below the actual greats after everything this season

 

Steve Clifford is good too.

My friend is a rabid super-fan and he gets angry at me even just asking if Carlisle still has it or if he's coasting. He won't even entertain the thought that he's not a top three coach.

I like Anthony Lynn. I think he has had a similar amount of talent as the last Chargers coach and had more success.

Hahahaha yeah most Mavs fans are still 100% behind Carlisle as a top 3 coach and I get wanting to hang on to that, but yeah I definitely think he's coasting
