I happen to the think the franchise tag is stupid and shitty.

 

Neither of those cheating scandals mean a damn thing to me, they're both dumb. And drafting Hernandez and him ending up being a murderer doesn't seem like something that should be blamed on the team, but okay.

the team knew about Hernandez's past. They obviously didnt murder the people but they had to have known how shady he was

 

Cheating is cheating though.

 

Every team cheats and if you're telling me that every team who drafts a player who has a troubled past is responsible for their future actions or should be looked down on for doing it, then every single team has done that as well.

 

I don’t think soliciting a prostitute is something that condemns someone as bad person, it’s just kinda gross and sad

 

That being said, the PED thing is legit cheating and Kraft is a scumbag.

I just really don't like equating the other things in a game with forced prostitution.

 

Yeah Bountygate and the way teams handle domestic violence and sexual assault and the league’s attempts to suppress player safety concerns and the Kap/player protest situations all rank way higher than Deflategate or Spygate for me, and Hernandez is a unique situation. The Patriots are still one of the scummier organizations in all of sports, but putting Deflategate on the same list as soliciting trafficked prisoners misses the mark for me.

 

This is my point and much better explained.

 

I don't think anyone is comparing the two things

they were just making a total list of all the shitty things that organization has done

I think they’re irrelevant. Every team has lists of shitty things they’ve done, and I don’t think on-field scandals have a meaningful insight into legitimate off-field violence.

But the point is that those things aren't related and shouldn't be grouped in with what Kraft just got caught with.

 

Like Brandon said, the two things aren't being compared. Just showing what a shitty organization they run.

With the exception being the link between football related brain damage and off-field acts of violence, which is real.

 

This actually feels 100% true, I do think all teams do those things when you frame it like that

 

Yeah Spygate and Deflategate are bullshit imo but everything else blast them into the suunnnnnn

 

Maybe not illegally deflating footballs but teams absolutely do and have manipulated footballs for competitive advantages
