Based on how we handled this draft I definitely feel like we should've kept Tashaun Gipson and TJ Yeldon.

I get that they didn't draft a WR or a DT because they aren't giving up on their first and second picks last year, Taven Bryan and DJ Chark, that easily. I'm wary about it because they were more down than up as rookies, but I get that we've already invested high picks in those positions.

    However,

I don't want to have my fingers crossed that a guy who's never really had playing time for us (Wilson), can handle the toughest position on defense (free safety). I liked having a proven vet in Gipson who knew how to read quarterbacks and honor his responsibilities. $8M per season isn't a lot to pay for a guy who you can trust to shut down big plays and cause interceptions.

As I said earlier, even if we like Jarrod Wilson you gotta have competition in the room cause it's a high stakes position. It can go south FAST. You can play well for 6 weeks, have one bad game that exposes your flaws, and then teams attack you and score off you the rest of the season. Not drafting Deionte, Chauncey, or Hooker & taking a special teams / rotational player instead is gonna come back to bite us.

Yeldon, meanwhile only cost the Bills 2 years, $2.5M, zero guaranteed. I really don't get it. Ryquan is awesome but we don't have a receiving back now. We could've had Yeldon AND Ryquan backing up Fournette, still had pass catching + blocking + short yardage if Fournette got hurt again.. and been set at the RB position.

@CarpetElf Ryquan can't block or catch passes nearly as well. He's a replacement for Carlos Hyde, not Yeldon. Yeldon's making like vet min. He was a good *backup* RB.

I would've wanted both, and not signed Alfred Blue. Blue is making more than Yeldon. They're both average runners but at least you can run the spread with Yeldon and he excels at that.

I literally called Tyree Jackson this year's Josh Allen so the fact that he's now his back up is perfect.
    Stanley to Zac Taylor! GBR!
Tre Lamar UDFA to Detroit is dope for them.
Jags get Saivion and Joe Giles-Harris!? That makes up for some stuff.

    yep which should help tremendously

the more I thought about it you can't really hate the move. Trading your own 2nd and coming away with a 2020 2nd and Josh Rosen essentially

even if he is the worst QB of all time its worth the risk

The chiefs got 3 good starters without a 1st round pick, what's wrong with that?

The chiefs got one starter, one that could be good, and a massive reach

Though who knows haha. I'm not a fan of the state of their team and I don't think they did a good job addressing the problems that they created themselves.

Trading that much for Frank Clark and not getting a center OR a 3 down runningback to replace Morse / Hunt

They could've stolen Jachai Polite with their late 2nd round pick. Instead they blew a bunch of high picks and spent 4-5 times the amount of money on another shitty human being

He wouldn't fit, it was clear bulking up to try to appeal to 4-3s slowed him the hell down and he just didn't look the same. Supposedly when he got to the jets he had trimmed back down and looked like the guy everyone thought he would be. Second, he has some character issues but none that are even a little bit close (at least not that I know of) to guys like Simmons so you can't blame them for avoiding that right now.

Polite had a hamstring injury at the Combine. I could see weight slowing him down but I don't know if it would've done THAT much damage and made him run a 4.84. The injury had to have an effect.

This is a weird argument since they signed Frank Clark so obviously it's not that lol
