There is no good reason to let him go. It wouldn't even be cost saving because of dead money. And if you're gonna trade a good player you don't do it for peanuts after a down year, you let him play up his value first and sell high.

As much as they need a pass rusher it would've been awful if they gave up what the chiefs did, they aren't one or two moves away. Hopefully they don't let mccags screw up this teams future because he's desperate to stay aboard.

its absolutely a terrible look to sign a big contract and then just say "nah I don't need to show up for these 3 days"
