Okay honey can go in tea. Lets not get crazy.

 

I'm not a big drinker much anymore, I might drink once or twice a week, but when I do I usually drink quite a bit/stay at the bar a long time. I never drink at home. I tip a lot since I've known the bartenders for a long time and am friendly with them.

 

I am an especially generous tipper at diners. Usually like 50-80 percent

The only time I would ever tip less than 20% is if you were like a massive asshole or something lol I've been out to dinner once with my wife and no joke the waiter was straight up hitting on her literally right in front of me lmaoooo

 

I purposefully didn't tip once and she followed us outside and I straight up explained why I didn't tip. She was terrible and rude as hell.

 

I definitely tip based on service. I can typically tell the difference between a busy server and one that doesn’t give a fuck, based on my experience in the industry. I hold them to the same standards I hold myself.

I’ll give 30-40% if they were great. If they gave me the basic bare minimum service they’ll get 20. If they were shitty to me then I’ll go lower but that’s really rare.

I will also tip extra
1) If I know the friend I’m out with isn’t a great tipper. Fuck you the server is getting at least 20% one way or another.

2) if it’s a busy night and the customers around me are being difficult / not being understanding.

People tend to assume that their table is the only one being held up, so if it gets crazy busy a lot of people leave trash tips and blame the server. I hate this when I’m working, because you’re working way harder but getting appreciated less, so I try to offset that when I go out on a rough night.

 

I do this too. One of my best friends is a notoriously bad tipper and I'll tip 40% when I go with him

 

Yeah, I definitely sympathy tip if there are assholes they're dealing with.

 

Pretty much ever sever i've ever dealt with has been good, and I know like 95% of issues aren't there fault which is bullshit for them because it gets taken out on them and there the ones who don't get a real hourly wage

 

Any server who would do this probably has a shitty attitude. That’s crazy unprofessional. I’d get fired instantly if I did this.

Shitty tips suck but you gotta let them go and keep rolling. Otherwise they will bother you the whole shift and make you seem slightly off / rude to the rest of your tables that night even if you’re trying not to. And it will cause you to mess up / cause other people to also think your service is shit.

 

I try and count servers too. Went to a packed pizza joint the other day with only two servers on food and the bar.

At least Colorado is better than most in that regard. It's 8.05 here and 2.13 most places

 

She came to our table 3 times in the 1.5 hours that we were there:

First time to bring menus and take drink/food orders
Second time 20 or so minutes later to bring the drinks/food
Third and final time about an hour or so later to bring the non-split up bill.

The whole time we were looking around for her or any other server to get us a refill or napkins or silverware and ended up just getting up ourselves and finding the soda fountain and area where silverware had been rolled at some point. There were maybe 5 tables of people in the whole restaurant and it was well before time for close.

They were just being dickheads.

Kimron was such a weird person. Flamboyant jamaican who somehow got all the old mean republicans to love him. They legit would not eat there if he wasnt their server

 

Ugh this reminds me of a few months ago, like the first truly cold day of winter we went to get Pho, and like everyone and their mother had the same idea, the place was PACKED. They only had one server and the poor dude was literally running back and forth from the tables to the kitchen. It was taking a while to get our food (understandably) and the table next to us finally gets their food, cusses the guy out for how long it took, then asks for their check, pays their check, and leaves, literally without touching the food (weird flex but ok?)

So we, and a few other people from different tables just picked up the food from their table and took it home lol

 

People are the worst

 

I just couldn't believe they fucking left without even touching their food and didn't even bother to take it home lol we all waited a good like 5 minutes to see if they'd come back for it and nope so free game
