I have no idea why 3 of those 4 are considered shitheads and I’m not sure I want to know why

I agree with all of this but will add/alter that even though it gradually started declining after the first three seasons, it still had it's episodes/moments that were fantastic due to character development, emotional impact, and/or being hysterically funny. It always had something like those moments going for it, it just became too inconsistent.

Still love it though.

Also shove off @CarpetElf , Rainn Wilson’s depiction of Dwight is some of my favorite comedy acting haha. The point of the show is dry satire and his improv is consistently great in that department

 

Wilson is great. I love him. But Dwight is inconsistent. He's either great or too much. He's no Andy though haha.

 

I get hating Andy and Michael though. I mean, hating them is the point but it’s also fair if you don’t find it funny when characters are shitty on purpose

 

The characters of Andy and Michael are meant to lampoon the moronic dudes we all know like that in real life.

 

I love Seinfeld and It's Always Sunny. Shit like Michael forcing himself on Oscar is just not funny. You can be unlikable and funny or likable and unfunny but those two are largely unlikable and unfunny. Not all the time. Michael definitely has some great moments.

 

That was like his only really good season though. Ricky Williams is literally one of the players I went back and revisited recently haha. I was disappointed to find that I only thought he was a top back because of Madden 2004 which was based on his one dominant season.

Fair distinction yeah. And I didn’t think that part was funny either.

But one of the running gags Michael does that I love, is how he’s always trying to have meetings about being politically correct and supporting diversity, but he ends up doing the exact opposite and being offensive about the very thing he’s trying to address.

That’s one of the funny things they did with Michael’s bad character. It really highlights the main punchline of the show, that the boss is the least professional person there.

 

The best thing about Michael was that he rarely ever did anything out of malice or was an outright dick on purpose. He usually was just a bumbling idiot who was trying to get people to like him or make friends.

I feel like 1100-1300 yards rushing really wasn’t rare back then. 2002 was the only season he was like a top 3 superstar runningback. I guess you could also argue 2003 but this is also when you had LT, Shaun Alexander, Priest Holmes, Curtis Martin, older Emmitt Smith, Edgerrin James, Eddie George, Jerome Bettis, Fred Taylor, Jamal Lewis, Corey Dillon etc... TONS of teams had 1200-1300 yard rushers

 

And Tiki Barber emerged and started having those 1200-1300 seasons around that time too.

Shit, even Warrick Dunn had at least 1100 yards each year between 2004-2006. Stephen Davis and Deuce McAllister outrushed Ricky Williams in 2003 as well and they were middle of the pack RBs, not even among the best

I just named 15 runningbacks who had seasons similar to Ricky’s 2003, all around the same time frame

 

There are a few times the writing screwed this up and when those happened I really soured on the character. But by and large, 95% of the time they did it right (and most of the screw ups were a simple line of dialogue or a conversation, not a full blown episode or something so this is me severely nitpicking)

Jesus Christ there were so many good runningbacks in the early 2000s lol. All those guys I listed had multiple 13-1400 yard rushing seasons.

Thats literally half the league’s RB that used to have that kind of production 15 years ago. If you count Ricky Williams I named 16 RBs.
