I wonder if there is an analytics department somewhere measuring how often a player gets hit. Like, I love Barkley or Elliot, but thy are the "invite contact" kind of RBs that means they're gonna wear down and/or invite injuries. My memory of watching CMC play is he so often gets the ball in space that he can choose to avoid contact. Might be worth an extra year or two of prime play

    Nope. Supporter

His only point was a spread, high octane offense vs. a run dominant team with shit for QB

That is literally describing the Super Bowl match up this year lol

I’d like to see percentages year-to-year because I feel like this past season, Zeke avoided contract more often than he did in 2016. Like, purposefully you down or out of bounds instead of busting through people or hurdling.

Bell improved at this too after losing multiple seasons ends/playoffs to injury

This is something I'd be really interested in finding, as I think it would go a long way in how to value certain RBs, even if it's just for another year or two. Forced missed tackles is the first stat I can think of, but I'm not sure if there's a site or database anywhere of the top of my head that has that information readily available for free

  8. Instead of paying someone 12 or 15 or 20 million to play football, take that money and divide it amongst the top 10 posters in this thread. We out here doing the real work.

Yeah, it’s hard to quantify how often they choose to avoid contact versus it being unavoidable.

20 million though? He’s worth 16-16.5. I’ll give him that.

I’m pretty sure there are some RBs getting paid $16-16.5M, or at least damn close to that, so I’d be aiming higher if I were him and he deserves it

RB also have tough blocking assignments at times and contribute far more overall yards / take as many or more hits as a TE. Why wouldn’t the elite ones hold similar value?

Like, okay Kittle is better at blocking than any RB can dream of being but an elite RB will give you 2000+ yards rushing & receiving, compared to TE who rarely if ever eclipse 1300/1350 and the majority of solid receiving TE aren’t even 1000 yard guys. AND RB can still be asked to be stout and decisive at blitz pickup

only 4 RBs in the league make more than $8.25 AAV and 2 might be cut this offseason (Bell and DJ)

Can they release bell without taking a cap hit?

  18. Sammy Watkins makes 21. Who would you rather give 21 million to? Brandin Cooks makes 16? If your Kittles agent how don't you drop those two contracts on the table and just laugh/

RBs get a lot of those yards because they touch the ball way more than TEs, or even WRs, do. That doesn’t mean how they get all those yards is more efficient than how a TE gets their’s.
