Does Randall know that passing the ball is more efficient and has a higher chance to score a touchdown at any point on the field on any given play than running the ball does?

Also, give me Allen Robinson over Ezekiel Elliott every day of the week. I want a strong receiving corp and a decent RB way way wayyyy more than a great RB and a decent receiving corps and it's not even close.

If you have someone like Zeke or Barkley or CMC, then the opposing defense is forced to account for them which leads to much more open looks for receivers, leading to decent WR2 or WR3 players look “better” than they actually are.

If I’m forced to pay $12 million a year to an elite RB over a WR2, I’d take the RB.

Having good receivers who can regularly get open leads to much more open looks for receivers

But by definition, a WR2 isn’t as talented as a WR1 and I doubt that even the best WR2 could make as big of a difference as an elite running back.

I’d take a top five RB over the 33 rd best WR

Stop putting yourself in a box by saying "WR1" and "WR2"

Niners are doing just fine with Sanders and Samuel at WR, even though neither could be described as a clear "WR1"

Why? That was the original question.

It's a dumb question. I want good wide receivers. Period. I'm not sitting here like some dumbass saying "Well, I've got a WR1, so now I need a WR2 who is no higher than the 33rd best WR"

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

The Cowboys traded for a WR. They were struggling beforehand, with an elite RB right? WRs are incredibly more valuable IMO

I can't wait to watch them let Cooper walk and listen to fans/analysts complain about why their offense isn't playing better

Don’t be childish in calling me a dumbass, that’s lame as hell.

I was answering the original question. Of course everyone wants good wide receivers. But that wasn’t the question.

  16. Alriiiiiight everyone chill. This all started cuz i was shit talking my work so why don't we all just shit talk our work lol

We’re not letting Cooper walk, we have plenty of money and he’s vital to our offense.

Conversely, look at all the teams with very good QBs (Rivers, Stafford, hell, Rodgers fits into this pre-Aaron Jones) who've had dogshit at RB and can never get over the 9-7 hump consistently because of it.

I dont doubt that WR is more important than a RB overall; but I think the Cowboys are a perfect example wher Id rather pay for an elite WR and an elite RB than have simply two elite WRs (see: Buccaneers)

Bucs have actually had a pretty potent offense the last few years despite poor RB play. The problem has been Winston's turnovers and lack of consistency

So, yeah, give me Evans and Godwin every day of the week

    RBs are replaceable imo.

I'd actually love to watch this offense without Winston and with a decent RB that has a role in the passing game

Those are good points. And yeah, our offense sucked in 2018 pre-Cooper because our receivers would be, at best, decent WR2’s in comparison to all other receivers. And probably closer to just a good WR3. Hurns, Beasley, and Williams weren’t striking fear into nobody, lol

I mean I'm not going to pay 12 million a year for a position that has a short self life. The Eagles and Patriots are living proof of that. A committee will always rule in my eyes.

Hell the 49ers are doing just fine.

The Chiefs are too. Granted, Mahomes has a lot to do with that, but their receiving corps has played a massive part in that too. So has coaching. Drawing up schemes to get receivers open (something the Chiefs and Niners do very well) helps lead to a more efficient offense.

People are so quick to point to the Niners running the ball down the Packers' throats, but if a team is gonna let you run the way the Niners were able to in that game then keep fucking dunking on them.
