Rivers led the league in TD passes once, threw double digit interceptions in 12 or 13 seasons, including his last ten, led the league in picks twice, lead the league in comp % once, pass yards once, QB rating once, was sacked - holy shit - 445 times (no idea how many are his fault and how many could be blamed on o-line), started every game since 2006. Comeback player of the year in 2013. That’s basically the only award he won in the nfl.

got to the AFC title game once, played in 11 playoff games, going 5-6.

10 out of 14 seasons his teams were above .500, four division titles (all were from 06-09).

no way is Rivers in the HoF.

 

I thought his 2014 season was worse than it was; but he had 3 years in Denver of 4500+yd, 35+TD football, and then that final year. So you're right.

Point being that Ben and Rivers would need 3-4 more seasons at their current output to match those guys statistically, and that seems really unlikely for both. So just on stats alone, they're a solid 10-15% behind.

 

Rivers in Bruce Arians offense is about to throw for 5000 yards, 40 TDs, and 40 INTs

 

In 2014 he kinda fell off part of the way through the season but still played good football early. I think you're both right

 

I’m sure Chiefs and 49ers fans are going nuts but it does not feel like Super Bowl week to me at all.

The niners should wear something to honor Kobe, even though technically their local team is really the warriors

 

Also the Chiefs being unlikeable as hell and being a Lamar Jackson hype season away from Patrick Mahomes hype season takes away a lot of the natural excitement that SHOULD be happening

If the Chiefs were in the SB last year right on the heels of Mahomes having his ridiculous season it would've been very hyped up

 

I imagine there will be a moment of silence or something. They kicked off media week with a kobe memorial.

 

I'm v excited for the game because of Andy. I just think it's so weird it's at the Dolphins stadium. Maybe because when I go there it's such a dry and dead environment as far as the fans. I feel like the stadium is pretty boring and bland too idk.

Tyreek Hill, Lesean McCoy, Frank Clark, shit Sammy Watkins for that matter being in that mens rights cult or whatever. They've got a pretty deep roster of shitheads

I love Mahomes and like Andy Reid a lot too so I'm still pulling for those 2 to have success. But their roster has some pretty gross people on it

Everything with Kobe has really put a damper on sports for me, I'm still feeling pretty fucked up by it. But usually I'm not hyped about the SB unless my team is in it, I guess you could say I'm more of an Eagles fan than an NFL fan.

 

Have you been there recently? They did a TON of upgrades

 

Yeah I have, I think im just underwhelmed by the conventional round completely enclosed stadiums in general. Like the new Giants stadium is so fucking boring I don't know why they built it like that, I guess for max capacity to be high?

It's not a bad stadium, and I love how they made it so the new coverings will cover everywhere from the sun except the visitors bench at certain times.
