Ben's first SB might be the worst winning SB performance I've seen I'd have to think about it

 

@Max_123 id get behind it if he wasn’t laughably mediocre for MOST OF his career. That’s my biggest bugaboo is - yes he’s GONNA get in - but i subjectively prefer to look at players in terms of their whole career, how good I typically thought they were over their careers. Not like my opinion matters though.

Doing it twice is legit - that’s why he deserves the rings and the SB MVP awards. That already sends the message you’re trying to send haha.

Nobody should make it, especially Tom Brady

 

I feel like the Steelers didn’t ask him to do anything at all really haha. The one time he made an improv play (the 35ish yard pass across his body to Hines Ward) was the little push that won them the game imo.

They still had Bettis and an elite line and defense haha. Ben had the best situation for a rookie QB in the whole NFL.

 

I’m with Randall though, if I ran the show you’d have to be consistently great to be hall of fame. One or two season greatness is what mvp awards are for.

Yeah I'm just in the camp of...if I say that I think Eli shouldn't be in, I need to actually establish who currently in the Hall I wouldn't put in...but if I look at who's already in the Hall I feel like I can't change to say Eli shouldn't be in and leave everyone else in

 

Actually the only player who is worthy is Terrell Davis and only because he also makes good BBQ sauce

I don't think that's worth comparing though because that's the equivalent of Eli's second SB being against Brady and having Brady and let's say Randy Moss both tear their Achilles or pectoral in the first 5 minutes of the game haha

 

His efficiency numbers were actually pretty good though. Like I think generally he was third behind Steve Young and Brett Favre for his era. He just had a lot less actual volume than other top 90s QBs cause he didn’t have to throw as much.

I’m on the fence with him. I do think it’s harder to play clean if your team asks you to throw a higher volume of passes (like Favre / Young / Moon) for sure. But I also think the Cowboys were too dominant in the 90s to not give the QB some credit.

I was just doing a somewhat dishonest bit. I was really surprised when I actually looked at his numbers and stuff on the face, it didn’t line up with what I had expected them/assumed they’d be
