Gonna make the All-Dustin team once I'm back on the clock at work just for the hell of it

 

I mean super bowl teams are without important players all the time, good teams overcome it, like the 2015 Denver Broncos without their QB

That was really my bad for choosing the word decimated when really Dino just meant Eli had a mediocre roster, which, Foles kinda did too. Definitely a better team 100 percent but the difference is made up by him being a back up who played only four games that season ALSO, most importantly, i was just making a dick joke guys

 

And then we actually did watch the 2007 Super Bowl together and I remember it snowing outside and we ran out there fuckin shirtless yelling a bunch like idiots when the game was over

 

Ben was better than Eli for pretty much his entire career. Still is.

 

Ben definitely had a lot of awful games cause he irresponsibly played while hurt, which is what skews the stats to be similar to Eli’s.

Healthy, he was better than Eli almost every year

 

He's better for sure but only slightly and no one questions his candidacy at all, which is my entire point

 

Eli is the better Manning.

 

On brand and on time. Very nice.

 

You know, you really gotta admire how consistent @EntryLevelDave is, lol

 

Eli is going to get in but it’s kinda lame. He had two great playoffs and not really any other success but what will get him in is those two iconic Super Bowl mvps and just playing enough games to be in top 10 in some passing categories. Should he get in? I’m having a hard time caring. Joe Namath is in and he had like one good game.

 

See I do agree with all of this completely

I'm not trying to be a champion of "Eli should get in!" I'm just trying to say that he is getting in for sure haha and it's weird people are looking at it like "well maybe..." no he's getting in, based on the precedence set he is getting in

 

Super bowl wins and Super Bowl MVPs are totally fair markers for assessing for the HOF.

Eli is in rare company with two Super Bowl MVPs and two rings.

 

Was reminded of this crazy game. One of the earliest games that I can remember pretty well

Nah. Already doing that in the draft thread lol. I hopefully shifted it more toward stats and how we should view them as puzzle pieces rather than complete thumbnail images of the story/context

 

Right like it's baffling that the argument is "yeah he had those 2 super bowl wins and yeah he was the MVP in them both times, but otherwise he stunk!"

Like that's the ultimate goal of the playing the game, and he did it twice. The entire argument against him would be far, far greater in no HOF side if he only did it once, there's clearly enough evidence of bad QB's winning the SB once, but he DID IT TWICE

Is Phil Simms in? He shouldn’t be imo and he won 2. It’s just that Eli has two iconic ones plus the longevity to put up stats that makes him kind of lock
