Eh, they can eat that since the premise of trading Stafford anyway is that they'd be bad in 2020 I presume. Take one year of a rough hit (while resigning Taylor Decker instead of his 5th year salary probably breaks even-ish) and you shave $25mil and $20mil off those 2021 and 2022 cap numbers.

It honestly feels like the correct next level for NFL teams to take; now that they all mostly understand hoarding picks and maxing rookie contract value, taking that to the logical conclusion of "our 32yr old QB costing us $30mil/yr to go 4-12 isnt smart"

 

Patricia and Quinn are going to get fired if they don't win this year so I doubt they "punt" the year at QB though
