I was also surprised when I met Victor Green and he told me Bill coached the Jets in the 90s briefly too.

I always forget about Bill coaching for the Jets until I remember the whole reason for the switcheroo

Bill coached the Browns before joining Parcells staff in NY for the Giants. Won two Super Bowls there and followed Parcells to Boston. Then followed Parcells to the Jets where he was named head coach for 14 minutes before resigning on a literal napkin and becoming the Patriots head coach instead. The napkin thing is why i'll die on the bill hill haha

And yeah Victor Green told me he’s played for Pete Carroll, Bill Belichick, Bill Parcells AND Herm Edwards (he was a starter on the Jets for like 11 years.)

Insane that the 90s Jets had what is now literally an ALL STAR cast of coaches. I’d be bummed as a Jets fan that they never made it with any of those dudes lol.

Dave can probably explain better than me but I'm pretty sure it had to do with the terms of him being with the Jets and a power struggle with Parcells? Cuz the Jets used Belichick to get Parcells originally essentially. Dave please correct me and clarify

 

Parcells HAD to take a promotion to leave New England so he became like the VP of football or something like that with Bill as HC. And Bill grew more and more concerned that Parcells would be too overbearing and not let him actually coach and he liked his time in New England and Kraft offered him the boat lol

 

This is the correct answer though. Even if you apologize tomorrow it’s better that you owned what you said than trying to hide and backpedal from it

I once had an old childhood friend I hadn’t seen or talked to in years call me out of the blue and it was really confusing what he was asking. Turns out he meant to call a different friend of his with the same name. Once we cleared it up he thought he hung up and I heard his girlfriend ask who he accidentally called and he said, “Oh it’s nobody, just some f****t I used to know growing up...” so I hung up.

I knew he had turned into an asshole at some point but I was pretty hurt. Later on I had told a mutual friend of ours about it and he apparently reamed into the guy and forced him to text me an apology.

 

His career has been WILD. People forget Nick Saban was his coordinator for a bit too lol

It’s all good. I grew up with him when I went to private elementary school and we lost touch kinda when I started going to public school. Of course he ended up being a TCU frat guy, so I’m sure you know what I mean

 

Damn what the fuck, people need to grow up. Like even if he didn’t like you as a kid why is he still so stuck on that as an adult that he can’t treat you with basic respect

Yeah, it’s used a ton here and in every context of the word. I’m straight and he knows that, he was just being an asshole.

That’s just one of many horrible words that I grew up around that I didn’t even know were that bad to use. They weren’t considered racist or homophobic slurs or anything. They were basically “normal” swear words to me. I’m ashamed I ever used them before I understood what they were.
