I went to see TGA at Riot Fest around when Handwritten came out with a couple friends, one of them I had a crush on, and we kissed during the song "The 59 Sound" and a week later she went into a coma and subsequently died

The other friend is dead too now actually, shit

I don't think an album has connected with me as much as Handwritten. I have some ridiculously awesome (and heartbreaking memories) to go along with 2012-2014 and that album played the entire time. It was also the album I got my entire friend group into TGA. I was always raving about them since 59' Sound but that album got them all into it.

Ugh. I miss it.

 

I was listening to sink or swim and there's an earlier tga ep with a song on it that fucking rules, it's so heavy. I cannot think of the name of it tho, ugh.

 

That is the saddest shit man it claims lives so early.

 

lol my friend group all got into TGA during the 59 Sound tour when they were opening for Thrice and Alkaline Trio and Rise Against. What a good freaking show.

Someone once told me a story about how they only know chiodos because when they were still living in Michigan, their friend ODed and she was playing their ep super loud as he was literally carrying her out of her apartment and to the hospital. Luckily, she survived and has been sober since.

I remember wanting to go to that but I wasn't into beggars yet so it sold out real quick. Before that, I remember tga headlined a wild show with polar bear club and some other random band. It was in a real small venue, I passed it by when I was going to eat with my friend and there was literally people standing outside still trying to get in.

 

Yea, it could be a demo. The problem is I only had it on my MP3 player and the battery stopped working years ago lol
