What do you think about Dalvin Cook, did I miss that

 

Love Conner, but I would not pay him anywhere close to $12M when we've only seen one season of good play out of him. Hell, he even started wearing down in the back half of the 2018 season before missing the last few games with injury

 

Like Fournette and Gurley, it hinges on his health. The team should not make the same offer to Cook if he has injury woes next year again, as they should offer if he does the opposite and plays 16 games and takes care of his body during the week.

 

He didn't get it though? His salary his entire Saints tenure never rose to above 6 million lol.

 

Vikings are $10M OVER the cap and they're really gonna entertain an extension for Cook despite his consistent injury struggles

 

And yeah I’m saying Gurley only wasn’t a good deal because the Rams gave him a long high guarantee deal like he’d never been hurt in his life.

Had he gotten an actual market deal for a good RB who’s had two serious knee surgeries he’d have been well worth it.

 

We know why they're 10M over the cap and a popular John Krasinski character will remind us

 

What do ya'll think about Phillip Lindsey? He's certainly the most underrated starting RB, no?

 

Def one of them. Wouldn't pay him top dollar but he went undrafted so 4 mill a year will seam like mana from heaven haha

 

Not resigning him would not be a bad move - I don’t really see that guy blocking or doing much to take attention off the QB... but if he will be humble when it’s time to negotiate then he could earn a Devonta Freeman contract at least. Which, Freeman doesn’t even get paid like a workhorse back, he gets paid like what he is - 1A in a timeshare

 

Freeman is currently being paid as a top 5 RB, Randall

No one is going to pay Lindsay anywhere close to that

Well okay. Vikings can’t afford it. Doesn’t mean a more healthy Cook wouldn’t be worth it though. If he plays 15-16 games next year he’ll get paid by somebody.

 

Yeah I mean you can give a RB an extension without it being an extension that's competitive in the market haha

I wouldn't give Lindsay close to what DF is getting obviously but I'd keep him for a better deal than what he's being paid now

 

It's crazy that his name never gets mentioned, like I think most of us probably wouldn't even consider him top 20 off the cuff when you list off RB's but he's had back to back 1,000 yard seasons with absolute dogshit at QB and O-line

 

It’s barely top 5 now. But the market has been reset haha. #4 makes literally 60 percent more money than #5

Freeman’s contract won’t even be top 12 in a year or two

 

Sure, and it would be a mistake for the Vikings to be that team, especially if Cook is looking to get paid like a top 5 back. I'm not saying he hasn't played like a top 5 back, but he isn't worth it for a team to pour that amount of resources into his position

 

And when he counters with Freeman you say thank you for the work, we wish you the best of luck on your future endeavors.

I’d consider him top 20. He’s no lead back but if you’re going RBBC he is a very explosive option

 

Like, saying “freeman makes top 5 money” doesn’t mean anything when #6 and #8 are on rookie deals

 

I think the Vikings would be smart to extend Cook given that he stays healthy next year (when is his contract up again?) and the fact that they stupidly gave a massive contract to Kirk Cousins should be what's criticized and resulting in that being near impossible

Well if he gets injured as a RB you're not gonna give him a contract extension right after obviously haha

 

If you're a GM and you pay Freeman top 5 RB money, then see RBs being paid just behind him on rookie deals while performing better, that's an even bigger reason to regret paying Freeman the money you did
