Just had a fucking heart attack thinking the Patriots were paying Rex Burkhead $6-7 million.

 

Like, yes you can make the argument that RB are less valuable but they *already* get paid less than pretty much every other position. Like. That dynamic is already accounted for by the lower numbers they are paid, and now we are overecompenating to say “just don’t even extend a good back”

 

Because there are more important positions the Falcons could have spent money on like the offensive line, defensive line, or the secondary, but now they have Freeman who has struggled a ton with injuries and inefficiency since being signed to that extension and now they have glaring needs all over their roster with only a little over $6M in available cap space.

 

We arent overcompensating. we are literally stating facts that you feel the need to argue against

You can’t afford quality vets in any of those positions with Freeman’s money. So how is Freeman the problem if cutting him still doesnt help them afford to fill those holes?

 

I'd be fine extending Sony Michel if Sony Michel asked for the kind of money he deserves. But, I'm not paying him top of the market money no way.

This is why I actually like the idea of the Cowboys or the Panthers using the franchise tag. Cool, you can have your money for 1 year and we'll see how you do and if you Gurley we bounce.

Even if the Falcons were to cut Freeman, they're still sinking $6M in dead cap while only saving $3.5M so the sad reality is they're almost better off keeping him around for one more year to continue being inefficient lol

 

I do think Matt and I have the same point though, which is "you CAN do things way X and we've seen it happen and probably will continue to, but from a neutral standpoint way Y is proven to have a higher probability of success"

While you're on the side of plan X all the way and Dave's on the side of plan Y all the way

I’m not plan X all the way. I’m defending plan X because people act like it doesn’t work or help teams compete at all and that’s not true.
