@booger2246 is gonna be so mad Matt and Randall are arguing again.

 

I really thought the Melvin Gordon situation from this past season would clear this all up considering Austin Ekeler was a UDFA and playing just as well as Gordon, but I suppose not.

Raheem Mostert is another example of how little you need to invest in the position so long as you have good blocking and a good scheme for that RB to work in. Also helps to have a good QB and good WRs too, which is why just about every other position on offense is more valuable than RB.

 

Worrying about a $7M running back is kinda crying over spilled milk considering how much an average offensive guard gets paid

The Falcons are another team in cap hell and Freeman is their eighth most expensive player despite not being good since 2016

 

The runningback argument is just that there's more than one way to do things and you can pay a top guy or bring in a committee BUT you have to be able to do other things well and really it's all fucking stupid cuz the whole argument is "be a good team"

But also like you said you continue to try and stockpile other talent there because Zeke and CMC will get a lot of touches and take a lot of hits and if you have a fresh guy who can come in when that happens who has potential you can perform a lot better as a team

So like it really works either way, if the Rams could get like Raheem Mostert behind Gurley or something like that I'm sure we'd be looking at their running attack differently
