No, and Gordon held out, bet on himself, and came up empty because they had ekeler in the wait.
Freeman and McKinnon are still top paid RBs.

They’re not mutually exclusive. You can have a good QB and still run primarily with one lead back lol

    Hmmm....

Also you failed to mention that David Johnson's max speed is like 2mph right now because he's already so banged up. He lost his job tooooooo a cheap running back on his first contract lol

Exactly Gordon wasn’t paid so he doesn’t apply to this situation.

McKinnon makes 7.5 million per year he’s paid literally the same as Fournette’s rookie deal

But to have the good one lead back that's good enough, you need to either get super lucky or invest there. If you get super lucky hip hip hooray for you, but I'm not drafting a RB early and i'm not paying them top 10 RB money no thanks.

If you have a good RB in general this is the way to do it I think

Put yourself in a position where if your good RB falls off you have a young guy waiting

RB late maybe twice every 3 years, QB late every other year if you have a quality QB

....yes he does. Because he tried to prove he's worth that money and the chargers were smart and didnt give it to him.

And thats literally one of the top paid backs???

You can invest in both. Teams draft every year ya know.

Not sure if you missed their game against the Vikings, but Mostert was very clearly not the workhorse lol

Max summed up what I was going to say pretty well, but I'd argue that NO always wanted to have a RBBC because that's what Payton has always wanted to do. NE has absolutely been a RBBC in most recent years though. As for the Packers, as awesome as Aaron Jones is, they still gave a decent workload to Jamaal Williams. They do not view Jones as a workhorse back, despite the new coaching staff.

So that helps my point even more then. Most of the “top paid backs” aren’t even paid enough to really hurt their team’s cap. So I ask again what’s wrong with paying a top RB literally less than every other veteran on the offense makes?

Right, and there are at a minimum 10 positions worth investing heavy in before RB. If you take one in the 3rd or 4th cool, whatever. But if you're drafting a RB in the first or the second your roster better be damn spotless.

Would agree with that too. I think every other year is like, what you should be doing at minimum to stay responsible. Every year is what you should be doing to stay respectable. If that distinction makes sense at all.

Whats wrong with throwing away 8 million dollars is a weird question

I guess those 12 touchdowns really justified the contract despite the Rams living in cap hell and watching the playoffs from home this year

Texans do neither and it annoys me, I wanted to draft 2 QBs in 2017 and I think we HAVE to either draft one now or sign a high end UDFA

    Idiotic point

    It’s not “throwing it away”

Oh because the Gurley contract is why they’re in cap hell right? Not the like 15 free agents they brought in the last two years

If I have good solid answers for:

    QB
    LT
    RT
    LG
    C
    RG
    CB
    DE
    DT
    LB
    S
    WR
    TE

Then cool I'll draft a RB in the first round. Ideally, it would be the better of the Georgia guys but oh well haha

I mean, its not spending it intelligently lol

KC 1st round picks on active roster this year:

offense - 3 (Mahomes, Watkins, Erving)
defense - 3 (Suggs, Lee, Claiborne)

interestingly enough, one of those players was drafted by Kansas City. and i'm sure if drafts could be re-done, Watkins, Erving, Lee and Claiborne wouldn't be first round picks lol
