Winning a divisional round playoff game would be the peak of my entire fandom but to the Patriots, it’s almost literally a yearly experience for the past decade. How do you not get what I’m saying?

I know. I've only been able to witness two super bowl wins and four appearances. Those pats fans are spoiled.

 

Players shouldn't have to depend on nonsense media awards to get paid. All guaranteed contracts baybay.

 

They shouldn't but they do so we have to root for them to make it and get their $$$$$$$$$$$$ till the CBA

 

About 12% of my pay is "incentive" based. Wish it was all guaranteed.

 

I guess technically all my pay is incentive based since they can terminate me anytime and not pay me

 

I’m 33 but I’ve only been a diehard fan since I was 20 or so. I know I had a Cowboys poster my dad bought me of Aikman after his third win but I didn’t know anything about it, haha

I’m just saying man, these individual awards and nominations and accolades is literally the ONLY positives of the past decade or two for most people on this board.

 

Mine is weird because 100% of my agreed-upon pay is salary, but last year the CEO just decided to do bonuses too because we had a good year so now it's like expected but not guaranteed.

 

I MOSTLY don't let snubs bother me but if JJ is snubbed from the Hall Of Fame after being a 3x DPOY and rebuilding Houston I'll be very very upset

But I've also seen worse things happen when it comes to HOFers

 

He is now isn't he? Didn't they finally vote him in and he didn't show up or something cuz of how stupid they were?

 

Watt is a great example. He’s the high point of the Texans franchise, as far as I’m concerned. And unless they get a ring, him going into the Hall of Fame is going to feel close to that experience for their fans.

 

chiming in about Watt to add details no one cares about:

- him coming back from so many injuries is crazy impressive
- him coming back this year from the torn pec is crazy imprssive
- all the money he raised for Houston after the flood is crazy impressive
- i feel like a lasting image of him will be from way back when with the bloody (broken?) nose, showing his all-american toughness
- helping bring Houston to relevancy

those things, along with all his stats and whatnot, definitely make him a HoF (and quite easily imo)
