I just wish Minshew played 16 games tbh

1150 yards and 7 TD from a RB is definitely more production than 3200 yards and 21 TD from a QB for sure. But with Minshew’s level of efficiency, if he continued that 4 more games I don’t see how he wouldn’t win.

Bill Belichick has won coach of the year three times in 20 seasons as the Patriots head coach. That's exactly once more than Ron Rivera haha

 

When your team isn’t winning the Super Bowl every other year, it’s fun for individual players or coaches on your team getting recognized for being great.

 

It just seems like such a weird thing to be bummed about. He had a great year! Why is it less fun because he didn't get a shiny trophy lol

 

When you’re not getting the Lombardi trophy every other year, sometimes these smaller trophies is all you can get.

 

I mean...cool I guess? Sorry Dak's year is somehow less fun for you because he's prob not gonna win the MVP.

 

Lol, I never said that at all. I’m explaining to you how other people feel about these individual trophies because they don’t win it all constantly. I feel like you’re being obtuse in acting like you don’t understand why some people care about them.

Don't players occasionally get incentives for winning certain awards too or am I wrong

I know ROY probably isnt included in that given that it's a rookie contract

 

lol not every thought I have revolves around the fact that the Patriots won the Super Bowl a bunch ya know. I just think, if I were a Jags fan, I'd feel pretty good about Minshew's year without or without the ROY award. And that's why I was like "huh, that was an odd reaction"

 

I'd feel better about Minshew's year if Foles didn't play in the middle of the season.

 

Sure, but I think your perception of “pride” in your team or players is skewed because you’re used to winning so much anyways. Like, they mean more to people who have never seen their team win before.

I'm literally saying the exact opposite. I'm saying i'd have "pride" or whatever in Minshew's year regardless of the ROY.

 

I’m just saying when you have the GOAT QB and HC for 20 years straight and unprecedented success that will probably never be topped, it’s hard to imagine what one single MVP or ROTY award feels like when you win basically nothing every year of your existence.

I’m sure they have pride in Minshew’s success as a rookie but it feels even better when they’re recognized outside of the fanbase.

 

I get that but I also get being like "Hey this player did amazing things and I'd like to see them get credit for that" because that stuff is often remembered retroactively by who got handed the award when it comes to the history books

 

I feel no pride for Minshew because he’s not going to be at the pro bowl
