Both teams lost this trade, but Antonio won it

 

Whelp that sucks.

 

Yeah, this is a big win for the Raiders. They got rid of Cooper for a 1st...and got AB for a 3rd and 5th. Rather than pay Cooper that fuck you money contract for a dude who never produced for them at that level, they gave it to the guy they know will be solid.

Though the fact that they handed AB $30mil in guaranteed money while being unwilling to pay Mack is hilarious. Especially when the only people they're even paying on their team are a bunch of 30+ year old O-lineman.

 

Idk how in any way the Raiders lost this deal. They have plenty of cap space and when Browns deal is done they just shift that money to extensions for the new young core they’re about to draft.

 

The only silver lining for the Steelers is they get back a better 5th from the Raiders than they gave up for Switzer, and getting pick #66 is about as good as getting some late 2nd rounder from a team we'd face in the playoffs.

 

Wonder what shitty qb the steelers will take in the 3rd round this year

 

Hopefully the steelers follow the packers and finally get a new gm by next offseason

 

I hope more players do this

 

The Raiders could be damn good for their Vegas debut. Four of the top 35 picks this year, two 1sts next year, and plenty of cap room over the next two years. If they had an experienced GM and a rational coach, I'd feel like they could really turn it around.

 

I'm not sure how the Steelers got robbed, they were in a no win situation.

 

Exactly, if the raiders weren't bluffing and did move on the offers could've been even worse

 

Also, if the raiders go 2-14 again I'm very curious to see how AB will react to that

 

Objectively they were robbed, subjectively this was for the best

 

Plus that could have been the best offer they got.

 

I guess it’s which belief you had - that the team was gonna get shit for AB or the side that somehow felt they’d get a 1st (or 2 first round picks!) for him.

But you trade him to a team with THREE first round picks and can’t get one of them? Can’t even get a 2nd round pick from there down the road or this year? AND you eat 19.1M in dead money this year to get a 3rd and a 5th? That’s as close to robbery as you can get. Madden doesn’t let this trade go through, which is a bad sign lol

 

I'd still rather have Mack than AB though.

 

This is whats funny about the trade for the Raiders. Value wise, its great...but for the contract they gave AB, its pretty break even to what they'd have paid Khalil Mack to have just kept him. And they could still have traded Cooper for a 1st and gotten AB for a 3rd and a 5th with all the cap space they have.

You either fully tank or you dont trade away top 5 defensive players.

 

I don’t really agree with the premise that they got robbed because the raiders had more draft capital, though. The price of goods generally is not on a sliding scale based on what you have, and this was a buyer’s market obviously. A gallon of milk costs the same whether you have $5 in your bank account or $50k

 

I feel real bad for James Washington, they should offer Mann a ton of money to come back for 2yrs

 

Every NFL fan lolling at the steelers now and saying he isn't worth a 7th round pick all at the same time. If the raiders are decent or at the very least AB looks like the top 3 receiver he is and doesn't cause problems every single fan will be furious his gm didn't make this same trade and be furious. The 180 will be fucking hilarious.

 

The eating dead money thing is over blown. They clear a million in cap space because he counted 22 against the cap.

 

Also, the Steelers would have taken a better offer if one was available and if brown wouldn't torpedo it.
