  1. You can say that he's throwing to RBs a lot of the time and doesn't chuck it downfield, which is fine. But he's taking what the defense gives him, isn't making mistakes, and CAN throw it deep if it's available. Part if it is the offensive playcalling. Part of it might be he can't read defenses yet. But I'm excited at the prospect that he might be viable and we can kick Ben to the curb.

I love seeing your Rudolph fandom because it's directly because you finally see a way out of a rapist QB who will never be held accountable for it

    The rivalry is back on

    1) Andrew Luck single-handedly elevated that really awful core upon joining the team and they rode that for 6 years. Him breaking and retiring early stinks, but I’m not sure how he could be a good argument for not going for the QB you believe in early in the draft

    2) A common misconception is that the Colts neglected the OL. They did not do that - Grigson just struck out on all his OL moves by some mixture of bad luck and bad talent evaluation. Mewhort was a second round pick in 2014 who was good but just couldn’t stay healthy, they already had their franchise LT in Castonzo, they threw the checkbook at Gosder Cherilus who also couldn’t stay healthy and also wasn’t very good, and they had their share of mid-round picks who didn’t amount to anything (Hugh Thornton, Le’Raven Clark, Khaled Holmes, etc)

Anyway. Yes the Bengals are gonna take Burrow but i still think it'd be smarter for them to draft a lot more studs and maybe take an A- prospect than take an A prospect and hope they can build around him in time for his contract extension with normal draft picks.

Their front office hasn't even proven they know what a good left tackle is and their only good opportunity to address that is next year's first (if they're spending this year's first on a QB). That's reason number one right there I think they should trade down. At the least you gotta have a good blocker to lead your line. If they bust on an LT next year it's gonna be a rough ride for Burrow.

I fully expect the Bengals to take him while they have the chance but I also think that patience and trusting the long-game of building a team, more consistently rewards teams.

They literally have two left tackles on their roster right now randall. They drafted your favorite left tackle prospect from last season.

I THOUGHT HE'S A GUARD THOUGH??? and he tore his ACL which to me means, okay, time to draft another one cause thats an enormous setback

we should've drafted another T after Joeckel tore his ACL, and I'm glad we drafted Jawaan Taylor after Cam Robinson tore his ACL.

    1) Just because the team that drafted him didn't get a full career out of him as a result. Sure it was still worth it for the team, but sad for Andrew Luck that his health deteriorated that much. Idk. Just sad that they weren't prepared to support him or keep him healthy, and couldn't capitalize on what should have been a HOF career with rings.

    2) this is exactly what I'm saying, you want to get the line right first because if you draft a bunch of busts then you gotta deal with the consequences. That's 5 positions that you want to get at least 4 of them right, it takes time, your first attempt at drafting OL is probably not going to succeed because the odds are harsh you'll draft or sign 4 straight quality starters. I think you should get that right and then do whatever it takes and trade whatever picks it takes to go get your guy once you're ready. Rather than basing it off of where your draft slot is.

Btw I do recall a certain team having a franchise QB and then drafting an OL for him and it worked out pretty well and worked wonders for their next QB when first franchise QB decided to retire for a way better job

Alright. I just remember a lot of condescending arguing with me about the same shit, all these analysts disagree with you, they all say hes a guard, maybe admit that you're wrong. And then the Bengals drafted him as a tackle and then Matt's tone softened a bunch like "alright I could see that"

I mean, i had him pegged as a tackle, talked about us drafting him and moving Cam to RT, i took him as a tackle in mocks, etc...etc... the argument was "no he absolutely isnt a guard" and my point was "people are also scouting him as a guard". Not "he isnt a tackle, he is a guard."

People scouting him as a tackle valued him higher than teams who thought he was limited to guard, teams also generally spend higher draft capital on tackles and they come off the board faster, so Jonah was always going to be a tackle. Whatever team saw him as a tackle was gonna take him first.

what I hated was the same media analysts saying that Jonah didn't have the length or agility to play T, were repping Cody Ford as a T

Ford had a full 3 inches less reach than Williams does and he was a top heavy 335 pound dude who lumbered around with much more sloppy footwork at OU.
