I would rather have Mason Rudolph playing and Minkah Fitzpatrick right now with no 1st next year than Big Ben still playing this year, no Minkah, and a pick that would be in the 15-20 range.

 

He's not wrong though that Mahomes was drafted into a very perfect situation for him

HOWEVER @Randall Mentzos that is a MASSIVE part of what's evaluated for these prospects: what it will actually take to put them in the position to succeed. Watson might seem like an outlier but what you see in Watson is exactly what teams like the Dolphins and Bengals are seeing in a player like Tua or Burrow: a player who can play lights out regardless of the situation. That's a big part of what makes prospects like Tua so sought after and exactly why teams wouldn't wanna trade out when they desperately need a quarterback. You can get WRs all over the place, RBs all over the place, corners and pass rushers all over the place. You can't just pull QBs out of thin air, get yours when you can get the best.

 

But why isnt Mason Rudolph good after all that sitting he's done

 

12, 19, and an extra first round pick next year. If they aren't happy with who their options are at 12 they can use the extra first next year and maybe even trade down at 19 to get higher in the draft next year. They aren't "stuck" like you're making it sound.

 

How do we feel about next year's class

I don't get that though because Tua and Burrow aren't playing lights out "regardless of the situation" they have two of the best supporting casts in college football. Going to an incomplete NFL team is a real shock and not every player from a top team in a power conference handles it well.

 

TLaw is playing worse than Fromm right now so, not great.

I see Watson as an exception, not the rule, he actually has played lights out regardless of the situation in Houston haha. No OL and no running game is rough!

 

Those are much better numbers, ill admit. Ill have to watch more Pitt, cause Kyle Allen has better numbers but he doesnt really look good either haha.

Add Scherff and Conklin, vastly improve the running game. Bengals suddenly have a dangerous offense

Kyle Allen is literally throwing west coast short passes to DJ Moore and Curtis Samuel all day. They have the perfect guys to make that offense easy on him, both dudes excel at short-area separation and yards-after-catch. Plus i mean, an MVP runningback / legit third receiver obviously helps a whole bunch. Allen never has to really challenge his arm.
