So wouldn't they want more picks to increase their chances of hitting?

Like, your batting average might suck but the more times you go to the plate the higher chance of hitting one

 

No, they would want a good franchise QB.

 

I'm not saying they wouldn't improve the line but neither of those guys are known for their pass blocking. This doesn't move the needle as much as you're saying it does, it would be a sensible move for a team that drafted the QB first.... but that still doesn't beat coaching a line for 2 years to work cohesively and then settling a QB in

 

I mean we are getting to the root of why teams don't start QBs right away. None of the QB who did that in 2018 are playing well right now.

 

If we learn to mass produce Joe Burrows this is all well and good

 

Also an overblown thing. You can sit all you want but that doesnt make you good. Playing experience is the only thing thats truly going to improve you.

 

There are infinite ways to build a roster so no one is wrong. Congrats everyone!

I mean, no but if he does poorly he's not going to get that extension anyway so your options are either to set him up for success or not. Some QB are ridiculously focused under adversity and overcome all those odds, like Watson. Other QB thrive because they were given a supporting cast and time to develop, like Mahomes.

Mahomes isnt good because he sat. Like, the difference between a bust and the actual best in the league is not holding a clipboard for Alex Smith haha

I'm not saying that but I'm saying it greatly increases the chances of them reaching their potential

Mahomes potential is sky high but he could've been very sloppy and developed some bad habits if they put him in right away. He had time to learn to process information quickly before he went out there and had to DO it quickly.

I’m prepping my “2019 Dak is elite” documents now for when it’s a slower day in here.

 

With 12 and 19? Unlikely that they get Herbert at that point so we've gone from Tua/Burreaux to Fromm/Hurts. Not great.
