I just think "oh shit we drafted a QB, lets real quick draft some linemen and hope they pan out" is kinda irresponsible. You shoulda been had that line figured out by the time you gonna draft a QB.

I agree with most of this except Dalton isn't garbage. He hasn't played well at all this season but I think he could be serviceable elsewhere with a solid OL.

Also everyone stop talking about the Bengals, they're too bad to warrant this much discussion. Plus it just reminds me of my poor life choices

Also, that development thing is overblown. Russell Wilson has never had a line. Watson too. Cam too. Ryan too for the most part. Luck too. Wentz/Foles was running with backups on their superbowl run. A QB that is good is not suddenly going to permanently forget how to play the position because his line isnt good.

 

I'm trying to set you up to have more chances at draft picks. Which both means your team gets built faster and it means you still have the ammo to get a QB this year or next year.

I heard you. We've seen teams put together free agent lines and they werent' nearly as good as they were on their former teams. Acquiring a stud LT like Whitworth or Tunsil has a huge impact but Conklin and Scherff? The only thing that guarantees is that you can run the ball to the strong side.

 

I mean, Norwell fell off a cliff when we acquired him from the Panthers. The communication / chemistry with teammates is a huge x-factor that could fuck things up

 

Okay? That opens up the run game for their very good young running back. Whats the problem here exactly?
