The Dolphins HAVE to draft a QB because they tanked for one. The Bengals HAVE to draft a QB because they risk becoming a complete and total afterthought if they try and sell people on one more second of Dalton.

You gotta pray the FO stops sitting on their hands and starts bringing in free agent offensive lineman to strike a nice balance between veterans and younglings along the line, but I would play him day one regardless. Only reason I wouldn't play a rookie QB from day one is if I have a good/solid starting QB for him to learn from before taking their first start.

if I'm a bad fucking team, 3 1sts + Minshew or Foles means I can get a head start on rebuilding my team, and it means whatever QB I draft later on has no pressure, they can sit on the bench and learn until the team isn't trash and they face fewer setbacks. That to me has a better chance of success than just hoping Burrow figures it out with no help.

If I'm the Jags and I finally have a line & some serviceable weapons to go along with a great pass rush, then fuck picks I want a QB now.

Just me I guess. And I know that's not how NFL teams think but we all have at least one opinion where we disagree with the way teams tend to operate. This is mine. I don't want to draft somebody on a trash team just to fuck up their development and get them stuck in bad habits. Just like how Matt doesn't want to sign the fucking guy after he played well for 4 years.
