This is still a piece of the argument about me saying the Jags are a better environment to develop a QB than the Bengals

I’m saying pretending the bengals roster is so bad that a good qb is wasted there is silly. And pretending the Jaguars weapons are so god damn good is also kinda silly because well, the Jags suck lol

I can't believe all of the defending of the Bengals that has occurred over the past two days. The Bengals are a terrible team with terrible ownership and terrible coaches. They have a garbage oline, a garbage QB, a garbage defense. Who cares if AJ Green and Tyler Boyd are better than Chark and Westbrook. They need ownership change and better coaching and they need to fill their 100 needs so they can be come competent and competitive.

 

...the jaguars have all of these things minus the bad o-line lol

 

My entire argument about this isn’t “the bengals are good” it’s more that “they’re not any worse of a spot for a young QB than anywhere other than mine Washington”

 

But like who fuckin cares cuz it's not like the Bengals GM is gonna be like "well the coach I hired sucks so might as well not draft a QB to replace our bad QB and instead go get Foles and trust our coach to develop 15 players instead of 1 QB"

I never said the weapons were the reason we can develop a QB. I’ve said we have a solid line so he has time, a good RB so he can throw fewer attempts, and a good defense so he’s not always under pressure to score every drive.

Bengals may have decent receivers but right now they have NOTHING else and two of those WR are injury prone

 

This is just not correct haha they are one of the worst landing spots right now

 

Because they can’t do anything else after drafting a QB? They can add offensive linemen later in the draft and via free agency and boom, you got an offense.

I keep thinking the defense is gonna be garbage but they’ve only allowed more than 17 points twice.

 

Your QB can’t be that good if you’re spending multiple days banging the drum to draft a QB. In fact, mortgage your future to draft that QB lol

 

Also football is a business and idk how you get people to keep buying tickets with Foles and overhyped draft picks a la John Ross (sorry it's not your fault JR) that never pan out and trading out from prospects like Tua and Burrow

 

Offensive lines take a couple years to groom. You can’t just draft 3 rookies and expect cohesion. I’d rather work on my line with a shitty QB or a conservative veteran who gets rid of the ball, and once it stops looking like a dumpster fire THEN draft a QB

The way Randall talks about his good OL and good defense and good qb and good weapons you’d think they didn’t have the 7th best record in the conference lol.

 

I’m not saying to draft ANY QB though. It’s not that I think Minshew / Foles need to be replaced. I just love Burrow’s game more than the vast majority of top QB prospects.

 

Tunsil locking down the left side is like 70% of why the rest of your line has calmed down though. It’s not the fact you added rookies it’s the fact you added a proven stud at the most important position on the line

 

draft burrow in the first, draft an ol in the 2nd, maybe trade up in the 2nd again for a second ol, sign one in free agency and boom you got an offense.

 

The OL is the only part of the team I’ve called “good”

The QB, weapons and defense you just criticized too harshly and I felt it unfair haha. I didn’t say they were good I said they weren’t garbage

 

That doesn't mean anything when it comes to developing cohesion though. Our cohesion as a line is immediately great upon adding these new guys. As great as Tunsil has been, Tytus Howard has been a massive part in cutting down Watson's sacks.

And regardless there are free agent OL guys out there Cincy can grab anyway, maybe not AS good as Tunsil but still great.

 

But then why would he trust the coach to develop a QB with no supporting cast either? Haha. That has an even lower chance of working out

I mean yeah if it’s just Foles that sucks. But if they also drafted Fromm or Eason with one of those 5 first round picks, then it looks more like you’re just setting up the team and stockpiling talent with Foles as a stopgap so your new QB has a chance at success.
