My guess is that he doesn't want Rosen to get killed by buffalo's defense so he's starting the wily vet.

He definitely just shouldn't have came out and said Rosen is the starter all year because it makes him look like an idiot. But remember it's his first time as a head coach so he's learning

Flores is benching Rosen for Fitz entirely due to the revenge game factor

 

Nobody has ever started Ryan Fitzpatrick because they wanted to lose every game. Sure, they eventually went 4-12 every time...but they never knew which 4 it would be or why. The correct answer here would have been cutting Fitzpatrick, putting Rosen on IR, and signing whoever as in the building at 2am cleaning the floors to be the starter

Well, and you just came off a game where you almost cost yourselves 0-16. The smart thing is to leave your best QB in there (Rosen), hope he takes a 4ish week injury, put him on IR, and you set yourself up nicely.

Then you trot out the worst possible formations for Fitz, hope he gets hurt, and have some guy named like Brian McHavensmith as the emergency QB. As a Steelers fan, this is the equivalent of whatever a Devlin Hodges is. Even the XFL doesnt know who the fuck that guy is...that's when you know you've got the right QB.

I'm fairly certain that the last time Fitz played in Buffalo he played the best game of his career. Like, may have sold his soul to the devil for that game because he promptly turned into the worst version of himself the next week and stayed that way for awhile.
