Randall: Not a team player

 

I’m not gonna cancel a trip I already spent $200 on, and I’m not gonna squeeze two 6 hour bus rides and zero sleep in one day, because they can’t honor a request off work on a slow day. Especially after I just worked 13 hours Saturday for them after my request off that night got denied too.

If I wanted to take responsibility for the restaurant being understaffed I would’ve been a manager. But I didn’t make the call to fire 4 people in a week. The understaffed thing, they did to themselves last minute, and then tried to disregard previously agreed upon off-time the WEEK OF to cover their ass.

I gave them plenty of notice to plan ahead but they knew I wasn’t available that day. And that’s probably why I didn’t get written up.

 

Man, imagine talking that much shit about someone "not being a team player" for PROFESSIONAL reasons and then making that post lol

They accepted; then went back and denied two requests off work with zero notice, knowing I had a trip paid for and planned and I couldn’t reverse it. What do they really expect me to do? That’s not me “not being a team player” by any stretch.

I worked the first shift anyway and risked being late to the bus, and I contacted 10 other severs to cover my second shift and called out with several hours notice. I actually did a lot more than most servers would do in that situation. I was, in fact, a team player.

So many servers who I asked to cover my shift said “just call out it’s no big deal” but that was my first time ever calling out.
