I’m excited about the return of the green goblin

 

I’m not picking a side I’m judging how it was handled. I don’t like how Coughlin OR Ramsey acted. Both of them were being detrimental to the team. We should’ve treated Ramsey with more respect, and in return id also expect Ramsey to be patient and focus on the team until next offseason, since an early extension doesn’t even mean early pay anyway. No matter what he did he was getting the same money for the next two years anyway, so yah I’m annoyed he blew it all up early. Getting traded changed absolutely nothing for Ramsey money wise.

Neither of those things happened hence I’m pissed at both Ramsey and the front office for fucking up what could’ve been a competitive team and a potential 15 year relationship without this dispute.

 

I'm pretty okay with players using whatever little leverage they have to get themselves out of a bad situation.

 

Fournette posted some shade on his IG story that could easily be interpreted as him saying Ramsey only looks out for himself, and Ramsey posted a similarly passive aggressive response

I'm just thinking about how having Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey on the same defense, that's pretty nice

The Pass D has to be near league-best once Talib comes back. JJ3 being potentially out for a bit stings as well, but Rapp has stepped up so far

 

Was it a bad situation though? I guess we’ll never know but I think we’d be 4-2 right now if Ramsey didn’t skip games. We had just finally found a promising QB and a WR to help our offense, and Ramsey was GONNA get a huge extension at a reasonable time (ie our plans were never to franchise tag him). Sure he had beef with Coughlin but it feels like a waste considering Coughlin is 80 and probably about to retire, it’s not like Ramsey would’ve had to put up with that shit for more than 1-2 years. I guess he’s that fragile he can’t handle a mean old man who isn’t even the guy in charge of signing him.

 

I wonder if they told him that they were going to franchise tag him instead and it set him off

 

I don't even really agree it was a bad situation. He stayed away from the team and kept pretty quiet. There are way worse things he coulda been doing other than saying his back is sore. And now you have plenty of picks (I swear to fucking god if they draft a RB again i'll lose it)

 

It was probably a bad situation based on whatever Coughlin said to Ramsey behind closed doors, which is what ultimately led to this problem for the Jags. I think Ramsey handled it pretty well by keeping Coughlin’s comment(s) out of the public!

 

And I really think the wheels could come off the Rams if the offense keeps playing this bad. Those picks are going to be super helpful for the Jags

Eh, Fournette has done a total 180 since he sat down with the front office to alleviate tensions after last season. His attitude in interviews and on the sideline lately has been that of a consummate pro. He became a team leader almost overnight.

 

I mean this is the part of the narrative where I side with Ramsey... but I still think he shouldn’t have been intentionally stirring the pot and liking posts of other players clowning on his teammates. His teammates didn’t do shit but support him and give him space... and you’re gonna sit at home mocking them on Insta while they lose games without you, what the fuck?

I also think if you’re gonna skip games out of spite / pride you should own it and skip the game checks too. Don’t lie and say you’re hurt so you can still get paid by the team while you’re disrespecting
your teammates, that is literal fraud and a bitch-made move.

 

Today is national boss day so make sure pop a middle finger to all the Tom Coughlins in your lives and hope for something better

 

Imagine if everyone who took a sick day actually got charged with fraud hahaha

I get Randall's frustration though. Losing one of the best players to play for the franchise is tough as hell, especially when it's as messy as it has been.

 

Oh, i totally get it too. I'd be bummed out too. But I wouldn't immediately switch from loving a player to "petty as bitch" that quick haha

I mean, winning helps, but it’s best to move on and focus on the players you do have, otherwise you’ll drive yourself crazy

 

Okay but here’s where we also can’t compare our jobs to his job, if you want me to use that logic.

If we take a fake sick day the company loses basically nothing. If Ramsey takes a fake sick day the company loses half a million dollars. The amount of fraud definitely matters.

You got other players suffering with real injuries and you’re gonna collect game checks for free just cause you’re salty? Come on, that’s shitty. Even if teams deserve to get financially screwed, your teammates don’t deserve that disrespect.
