Yeah, of course. I get agitated sometimes but it’s never personal or anything at all like that. Plus I typically comment immediately without taking a beat to breathe and be nicer, haha my b

They’re great but no easy way to combine rushing stats into it together and/or split who they’re playing against, etc...

Well yeah and what works out in Dak’s favor is he throws VERY few interceptions against teams the Cowboys “should beat”, so he’s not gonna hurt the team.

I just get much more picky when you consider how much DAMN money he’s asking for. He’s trying to up the ante so much that his contract would set the market literally 20% higher than where it was last season.

Imo of all the young QBs, only Mahomes or Watson is good enough to demand that much money right now (if this was a contract year)

For fun I took the 2017-now games of a few quarterbacks against top 5 defenses (according to pro football reference). I wouldn't take it as gospel, but

Dak Prescott: 2-4 record, 63.4% completion percentage, 6 TD, 8 INT
    Matthew Stafford: 1-3 record, 63%, 4 TD, 5 INT
    Kirk Cousins: 0-7 record, 64%, 10 TD, 10 INT
    Russell Wilson: 1-2 record, 60%, 8 TD, 4 INT
    Aaron Rodgers: 3-1 record, 62.5%, 6 TD, 1 INT

That $40 million number was never confirmed, by the way. The closest it came was a reporter saying she heard that’s what it was, but even if it is true, everyone asks for more than what they expect so the team lowballs to meet in the middle

I mean yeah this definitely says something, though it might not say anything that isn’t obvious.

“Elite QB still are able to limit errors against their hardest opponents”

Yeah that 40 million was said to be false and the real number was around 34. Which I still wouldnt pay but its not 40

34 isn’t bad then. Considering his rushing touchdowns have AGAIN changed my mind I’d pay that. It’s only half a million more than what old Rodgers makes. That’s what we should expect a young QB with very good stats to make, when you consider the inflation of the market and how it gets set by whoever is “up” that season... regardless if they’re “truly elite” or not

I just want to say that this argument exploded from a Dan Orlovsky tweet and he’s the same clown who recently had this to say about when to go for a two-point conversion when trailing in a game:

You’d be wise not to let this jabroni rule you up

Some dude on the Jets Reddit is trying to tell me McCarthy should have been hired because he is an amazing coach and Rodgers is overrated

He had a good 2017 season from what I remember before struggling with injuries last year and this year. Interested to see where he winds up when healthy.

Honestly one day removed from the game, I can say that despite losing that was Minshew’s best game tbh. I only believe harder and feel encouraged, which is weird after a loss that I spent a lot of money to attend lol.

I am very impressed he got 75 yards down the field and gave us a chance at the end. Almost NEVER do QB pull off 95 yard TD drives in a minute 15 seconds when the coach burns their last timeout right away.

He kept his cool and threw some excellent sideline throws, got the ball out of bounds, evaded sacks, ran for 10-15 yards when the defense left it open, legitimately cycled through 3-4 reads on some plays, high pointed Chark and used all of his 6’4” frame, etc.

He continues to be accurate and a very lucid & aware situational decision maker. He is aggressive when he needs to be and conservative when he needs to be. He was more composed and less nervous than I was at that stadium. The fumbles were unfortunate but his advanced pocket presence for a rookie still showed up multiple times. ALL this led to 374 yards, 67% completion, 0 INT, & 2 TD, against a top 5 defense in the NFL right now.

He’s even smart about throwing the ball away, as he targets a receiver’s feet when he can’t scramble out of the pocket to avoid intentional grounding calls — he has done that on purpose consistently when the opposing coverage gets ahead of the play. Dude literally checks every fucking box.

We trailed 7-21, 14-28 at certain points because of our defense, he fumbled twice because our FB missed the handoff and our G got blasted immediately, and he still got within 20 yards of an improbable 95 yard game tying drive.

I fucking love Gardner Minshew guys that’s my mothafuckin quarterback

btw Carson Wentz against top 5 defenses from 2017 to now: 2-1 with 6 TD and a pick

    Think about this:

the Redskins had Sean McVay, Kyle Shanahan, and Matt Lafleur all on their staff AT THE SAME TIME

and look we're the team is at now

Why are only interceptions considered when comparing to touchdown stats? Why aren't lost fumbles in there? Those are often worse than interceptions unless the interception is returned beyond the original line of scrimmage. Is it because that is put on the offense line or something?

Don't know if it was mentioned here, but the details of the XFL draft are wild.

XFL teams will select 71 players apiece next week in the league's inaugural draft, according to a structure the league announced Monday.

The two-day event will take place Oct. 15-16. It will open with the league assigning one quarterback to each of its eight teams, followed by a snake-style draft that commissioner Oliver Luck said will "maximize parity and equity between the teams." Each selection will be publicized through XFL.com, as well as the league's Twitter (@XFL2020) and Instagram (@XFL) accounts.

"We spent a lot of time on this and I think we have a pretty good set-up," Luck told ESPN.

Approximately 1,000 players opted into the XFL draft pool by accepting the commissioner's invitations and passing a background check. After the initial quarterback assignments, the remaining players will be subject to a five-phase draft divided roughly by position groups: skill positions, offensive line, defensive front seven and defensive backs. The final phase will include players at all positions.

The XFL administered a blind lottery to determine draft order. The Los Angeles Wildcats won and chose the first pick of the offensive line phase.

The D.C. Defenders will have the first pick of the skill-position phase.

Most draft-eligible players either played in the now-defunct Alliance of American Football and/or were released this summer from NFL training camps.

According to Luck, there will be a supplemental draft at the end of November for players who were ineligible to be drafted in October, either because they were on NFL rosters at the time or because they were a part of college programs. The XFL is not subject to the NFL's college eligibility rules and is open to signing players who are less than three years removed from high school.

Drafted players will be allowed to accept an NFL offer up until the start of XFL minicamps in December. Training camps will begin in January and the first games will be Feb. 8, 2020.

McCarthy is an average coach imo, he just rode the coattails of Rodgers prime years and Rodgers playing out of his mind/above average defense the super bowl year.
