    No Philly, no care.

There isn’t a single team in the entire NFL more in need of a corner than Philly. They literally played two guys yesterday (Craig James and Orlando Scandrick) who were on the street a week ago.

Now I don’t care if it’s PP21, Ramsey, Chris Harris, Dre Kirkpatrick (Will Jax plz) but they gotta do something.

edit: just clicked the article. Meh to TruJo.

I don’t care about the debate, I’m just happy to see Cowboys fans come crashing back to Earth after seeing how cocky the majority have been (my good friend has been unbearable).

    It energizes my soul

According to that article though we give you Trumaine Johnson, so all of your problems will be solved. You are welcome

    The rivalry is back on

I don’t think I’ve raved about him on here yet, but Khari Willis has low-key looked awesome for IND. He might be this year’s boring pick Ballard pulled out of nowhere who way out-performs his expectations.

I’ll be really disappointed if he hasn’t already won the starting SS job from Clay Geathers when Geathers returns, and he + Hooker is a safety tandem I can get excited about

I was just about to post that tweet as an example of cherry picking at its finest.

First, it excludes an entire season (2016) for no reason other than to further bend the narrative in the way he wants, not necessarily what’s true.

Second, can we get a breakdown of every other QB in this hyper-specific scenario? Those stats aren’t great but they’re not horrendous either. I’m positive that every single QB ever plays worse than their average against better teams.

This is the kind of stuff that gets traction when it shouldn’t.

Meh, 23/18 is not great. Dak has proven he is one of the better QB in the league, and this situational stat doesn’t necessarily refute that. But how he performs against “winning” teams is still a huge thing they should look at before paying him 40M a year. That’s an enormous contract he’s asking for if he’s just gonna barely do enough in games against other competitive teams.

I would understand your point about skipping a year if they skipped 2018 or something, but football is a “What have you done for me lately” league. The past 3 years is a valid sample size. I don’t think it’s cherry picking when the only criteria is “teams with winning records” and the data is from the most recent 3 years combined.

    I didn’t say 23/18 is great. I said it isn’t horrendous, which it isn’t. It’s average.

But again, the only reason to exclude 2016 but include 2017 is purposefully skewing the data. If it was a “what have you done for me lately” using his last 16 games is more honest than including every game he played in except OOPS arguably his best season. 2017 isn’t recent at all in the same way 2016 isn’t, but they include it in order to make him look worse than he is.

The only thing that jumps out at me as bad in those stats is that he got sacked 40 times tbh, and that isn’t necessarily on him

How's it cherry picking ? To be successful in this league you need to be successful against top teams, he also needs to find a way to pick it up when Zeke isn't performing.

I think that is hitting the nail on the head there

I already explained it in that comment: it purposefully excludes arguably his best season, as well as doesn’t include any context for how every other QB plays against winning teams. For all we know a slightly better than 1:1 touchdown to turnover ratio is fairly common for everyone, so why only mention Dak?

Also, Dak has a winning record with Zeke including one of the best games he’s ever played, as well as every QB plays better when their RB plays well.

2016 was his rookie season also. Do you not think it’s more useful to focus on how he responded once teams had enough film to gameplan against him?

23/18 is not average in modern football haha. That would’ve been average in the early 2000s maybe. I’m just saying he’s asking for a crazy amount of money so it’s not out of the question to look at split stats and see if he’s consistent in tough situations. That number against winning-record teams doesn’t exactly inspire confidence that Dak can lead them in the playoffs, even if he continues to have very efficient overall season numbers.

If they only said he’s 5-9 against good teams I would consider that more of a team stat than a QB stat... but the fact he throws almost as many picks as TD in competitive games does raise an important point that should be at least considered.

I just don’t think that’s actually the case haha.

This is something that can’t be disputed

Again, without seeing how every other QB does in this scenario then it doesn’t mean much to me because everyone plays worse against better teams than they do against bad teams. That’s common sense but Dak is getting shit for it and others aren’t.

The problem with Dak is he’s an average quarterback who plays like an amazing one sometimes and he plays for a team with a fan base that sees his (more) rare amazing games as the standard and the average ones as the outlier.

That’s really not necessarily true haha. “Better teams” aren’t always better because of their defense. Also, elite QB tend to elevate themselves in pressure situations.

I’m just saying I guarantee you Rodgers and Brees and whoever else Dak is trying to get paid way more than, that level of QB does still put up 2:1 or better ratios against good teams. If Dak wants to get paid like that he’s gotta play like that.

His bad games are the outlier though. He has double the amount of good games compared to his bad games.

You’re equating total dollars to skill when that isn’t how contracts work. He’ll make more because he’s gonna sign in 2019 versus other players signing with a smaller cap limit. Also, nobody is saying he’s as good or better than those players.
