...wouldn’t that mean it’s actually better to wait for his value to continue to rise then? Perhaps we do get two mid to high first round picks for him this offseason, you never know.

All I know is I’d have hung up the phone on the offers we’ve gotten so far. If we’re getting less than two upper first round picks, then yeah, I’m glad Khan agrees with me he’d rather keep him and let the situation play out.

At what point in Ramseys fake back problems do they realize he's just not going to play for the Jaguars?

 

Panthers potentially have 6 starters (7 counting Cam) out on Sunday.

 

At what point in Ramsey’s fake back problems does he realize that we’re just going to have a specialist confirm nothing is wrong with him... and if he sits out, that just means we keep him for free? We’re taking him at his word rn and giving him space, but if it’s proven that he’s just crying wolf? That just makes him look bad around the league, and means that he doesn’t get his game check if he voluntarily doesn’t play.

At what point does he realize his potential contract in the future from ANY team only gets lower and lower the longer he’s perceived as a headache / the more games he sits out and becomes less relevant to the league?

Im not blind, I do get why he’s making power moves to assert his value, even if I feel kinda betrayed by the way he’s handling it versus how like a Calais Campbell would handle it.

But if we offered him a big extension this offseason when we can actually afford it, he’d only be screwing himself to continue to snub it:
1) he won’t get to choose his next team if we trade him, and we DEFINITELY ain’t listening to offers from Houston or Tennessee. We will probably pick a team that’s equally as dysfunctional or worse, for a higher draft pick.
2) if we don’t get a good trade offer, you know the team will literally just franchise tag him for year 6 etc and he’ll just make less money and have less security than the deal we offered him.

I just think Ramsey is being short sighted and impatient rn cause it’s not even his contract year.. he decided he was “done” at the absolute lowest point of this regime, ie when things were at their worst and about to get better (see: winning the last two games in confident fashion after losing 12 of the previous 14). It just sucks that it only took one bad season for him to mentally and emotionally tap out, and he gave up on us right before we just found the best young QB we’ve ever drafted.

Coughlin is 80 years old he’s not gonna be in the Jags office that’s much longer. Minshew, Chark and Fournette are starting to look like easily the best offensive core the Jags have had since the early 2000s. We just SOLIDIFIED our trenches with Allen and Jawaan Taylor. If Ramsey literally just chills out until the end of year 4 when everybody else in the league gets paid, he will have an opportunity to be by far the highest paid CB in the league, on a team that’s miles ahead of where we were when this drama all started and stands a good chance at being competitive. Coughlin is a dick but damn man its common sense he’ll be gone soon if that’s the guy Ramsey has beef with.

 

New Idea: Make him an EVP of AEW for now. He gets a pay raise outside of the salary cap structure and hell, he can probably go in the ring.
