The Jaguars don’t want to treat the best player in their franchises history poorly because free agents and players see that. Don’t get it twisted, the players have the power because they can, at the end of the day, not play. Go to the CFL. Look what Antonio Brown did. Ramsey will get what he wants, he won’t have to wait, and he’ll deservedly so get paid.

We were talking about this the other week and I’ll reiterate what I and others have said... The fifth year option should be done away with as it, along with the franchise tag, are poorly designed and take away a player’s agency.

 

You keep ignoring the "one year" aspect of it first of all. Second of all, you can't compare his situation to everyone else's because well...he's better than everyone else.

 

Im not even saying we wont re-sign him. Just that the ridiculously team friendly scenario thats being proposed is unrealistic

Eh. I don’t think it’s that unrealistic that I suggest Ramsey might play just cause

1) he knows he doesn’t have a choice
2) he doesn’t want to lose $14M

And, an underrated side of the story:

3) as much as his pride could convince him to snub the money... it could also make him want to keep proving he’s the best and keep proving he deserves that money week in and week out. Instead of letting gossip and media criticism control the narrative while he sits out.
