    I can’t help thinking about 2005.

Byron Leftwich was decent but not “good”, we got to 7-3 with him so he got us in the playoff hunt.

Then he gets hurt, David Garrard comes in, barely makes any mistakes, goes 5-1 to get us into the playoffs at 12-4. (We’re still Wild Card cause Manning’s Colts went 14-2 to take the division.)

Leftwich returns to practice wild card week. Despite Garrard staying hot and being harder to defend cause there’s less film on him / his game is more uptempo and diverse than Leftwich, we put Leftwich back in, rusty as hell.

We got TROUNCED by the Patriots 28-3, Leftwich threw 3 INTs including at least one pick 6.

    ....let Minshew finish the season.

The Ravens have shown us they’re scary when they have a lead, but they haven’t yet shown us they can rally from behind. Lamar can only beat you through the air when you don’t know if they’re passing.

That said, I hope the Steelers learn from not keeping a spy on Russell Wilson on back-to-back 3rd and longs or else Lamar will torch them lol

I feel like Lamar is a dog though. The minute you start doubting he can do this is the minute he’s about to do it.

Always do the right thing. Supporter

The Lions actually look good, especially if Stafford sustains how he's been playing. Losing Hock really hurts and Matt Patricia is still the coach so I'm expecting them to finish like 7-8-1, even though if they split with the division and beat teams like Washington, Denver, Oakland, and New York, they should have 9-10 wins. I think the Packers win the division.

Tying against the terrible Cardinals does not help their situation.

I'm from NJ. Had season tickets for the Devils growing up.

my dad was born in Italy and came to the US when he was a kid. Thats right when the Dolphins had their great seasons in the early 70s so he got hooked thus I got hooked growing up

  12. It's a race to the bottom between the Bengals and Dolphins. Bengals can't take a QB though because they will die behind that Oline. Would they trade back for picks?

I did a mock this morning with the Draft Network's mock draft machine and ended up with Tua, Epenesa and Okudah with my three firsts

I’m only defensive of the Jags cause we are in a very polarizing, fragile position right now!

If we can keep winning with Minshew we might change Ramsey’s mind about being here. We might also change the front office’s mind that we can’t afford to sign him and Yannick considering we now have a QB making less than $1M per year playing lights out.

Give me an offense with Minshew / Fournette / Chark and a defense with Ramsey / Yannick / Jack / Josh Allen. If we can get all of that core together and keep improving our offensive line I really do see that becoming a playoff-competitive team. They really need to get this off-season right.

    Trusted

The Foles contract is bloated, especially considering they were betting against themselves. I also remember hearing they paid him more money than they probably needed to so that he would earn the respect of the locker room. Would not at all be shocked if that was actually true considering the Jags try getting into fights every week it seems. The discipline/culture is unfortunately not there for that team, which is a shame because they have a lot of talent and skill on that roster.

  17. I agree with rolling with Minshew over Foles if MInshew keeps progressing.

I think the Steelers should go with Rudolph next year even when Ben comes back if Rudolph shows any sign of development.

And if Coughlin is the one guy in the front office saying don’t sign Ramsey to $18-$20M AAV come February / March, Shad Khan needs to fire his ass.

You’re 80 years old and you live in Florida already, Tom. Connect the dots.

We got too cocky in 2017 and that lack of humility has really splintered our composure in the face of adversity. When you get too high on yourself you don’t know how to handle a setback when there’s no easy answers. That’s my biggest issue with Marrone is his inability to keep team morale focused and it creates a lot of reckless frustration in bad games

The presumption of the Post June 1, I assume, is that his guaranteed money would carry to 2021; but the guaranteed money is salary, which a new team would take on. I think OverTheCap doesnt have a good calculation for that...or they assume trade = all money accelerates. Maybe if you trade somone after June 1 you can split the cap acceleration over 2 years? But that doesnt add up to $16mil in savings.

Foles had a $25mil signing bonus, split 4 ways and multiplied by the 3 years left, it leaves $18.75mil in dead cap. His cap number for 2020 is ~$22mil, so the savings for trading him is the difference regardless of when they do it. If they cut him, his 2020 guaranteed salary would hit them, meaning $33mil in dead cap (I believe that OTC post-June 1 number assumes half the guaranteed carries over to 2021). Functionally, you cant cut him; trading him is a 2021 and beyond cap decision.

Also, Foles has a 2021 roster bonus that guarantees in March 2020; so he'd almost certainly be traded before that so a team could work around that

I’m acrually kinda pissed that Myles Jack and Cam Robinson AGAIN got heated and risked being penalized. It is ALWAYS the same two guys. Y’all gotta grow up, this is an ugly league and players are gonna go out of their way to piss you off, don’t be an idiot and be vulnerable to it.

He’s for sure a weirdo. And I mean that in a positive way outside of playing for the Steelers biggest rival lmao

But I am cautiously optimistic for the game Sunday. You have to look at the game last night and still remain skeptical of Rudolph because of all the dump offs and opponent. But I think they may have just been doing it because it kept working. He’s been downfield passer in the Big 12 and he’s shown that in preseason. Hard to bet on the Ravens not coming prepared for whatever, but I think they could try to surprise and open it up downfield
