Nah, that was cheap compared to what starting quarterbacks are getting in 2019 and beyond. Nick at $25M per year is way better than Cousins at $33M I’ll tell you that much. Dak has played amazing and reached ALL of his potential and he’s asking for nearly $40M.

I liked the contract. I felt even though we got some expensive dudes to sign and shrinking cap space, we were desperate enough at QB to warrant using that cap space on a decent-to-good QB.

HOWEVER, nobody predicted Foles would get hurt right away, and nobody predicted our late sixth round QB would suddenly look like a QB of the future. So NOW with hindsight that money towards Nick Foles feels more like an obstacle to our team goals rather than a necessity.

After week 4, only 3 AFC teams are over .500.

 

Foles can be cut post june 1 in 2020 and save 750K even after the dead money hit.

He can be traded pre June 1 and save 3.4M, post June 1 and save almost 16M

Because I would trade Nick Foles to the Bears on June 2, 2020 at 6:54 am for a conditional 6th round pick and never look back if it meant the Jags would pay Ramsey for real (assuming money / a change of heart from the front office would convince him to stay.)

 

It’s weird though cause Over the Cap and Spotrac often have different numbers and that makes me trust both of them slightly less

I think Dalton broke last night. Sacked 8 times, hit 11 times, BOTH are career highs. He was clearly rattled and looked terrible because his line is toilet paper. Their first round pick LT got hurt before the season even started, the backup (Cordy Glenn) has been in concussion protocol for like 5 weeks, and the third guy (Andre Smith) has never played the position, and is in general just awful.

Dalton never gets upset and last night he was pissed. I think he's close to David Carr levels of dead inside.

 

It sucks cause it’s not even like the Bengals haven’t tried to address the position. They just keep getting injured
