Haha it’s not that hard to exit social situations you don’t want to be in imo. I still like to keep myself open to people I do find interesting.

I feel like a lot of people don’t want to risk that, because they might feel like they’re being rude when they make an excuse to leave, but imo I think it’s more rude to just assume it’s not worth talking to people cause they’re all gonna be vapid haha.

As much as I get what you’re saying sometimes people can surprise you if you give it a chance. That doesn’t mean you have to strike up / guide conversations with every single person but there’s polite ways to dip out if you dont think you’re vibin’ with somebody lol. Everyone has the right to want to be left alone sometimes, everyone is allowed to be “too busy” for a long conversation regardless whether they actually are or not.

 

Also Vontaze Burfict should be in jail for multiple counts of assault at this point

I’m not a big Bill Simmons fan but I do enjoy the ringer dot com and most of their writers so I’m thankful he started that lol

 

thank you @Fucking Dustin for asking questions that i've long wondered myself, and thank you to others who point out that people make fun of Simmons and The Ringer but then speak in their terms and / or come up with even more batshit laughably hilariously awful takes themselves.

i listen to Bill's podcast because it's for the most part quite enjoyable but could take him or leave him. i sometimes go months without listening to an episode and sometimes forget The Ringer exists, but the there are a handful of people on this site that have a weeeeeeeird obsession with him and bring him up out of nowhere constantly. talk about living rent free in someone's head lmao

 

Simmons is a homer with a giant platform so he will piss people off. But overall he's good imo.

 

If I didn't love the Celtics I would hate how every podcast he's on turns into celtics talk lol

 

I listen to his podcasts when he has guests on that I like (which is also how I listen to any podcast)

 

But yeah I just don't care about pundits in general so couldn't care less that 1 guy has constant bad takes and couldn't care less to bring it up every 5 seconds

 

The bummer about that is it always happens in regards to my teams so it's like "nah nah look your people are crazy dumb!" And i'm always just sitting there like "i don't even look at his site/listen to his podcast. How is this my problem? haha
