I've been reading him since the Page 2 days of ESPN and listening to his podcast from day 1. Just always have loved him, I think it's silly for people to hate on him, we all hate and love our own people who cover sports. He is a ton more entertaining than most sports idiots with podcasts and gets GREAT guests as far as actors/actresses or just people in the entertainment industry. Also I love Cousin Sal and find him very funny with Bill on their monday guess the lines pod. Who cares if he's a homer, we are all fuckin homers.

I don't really hate Bill Simmons or think about him at all, it's moreso weird to me that enough people on this site follow him solely to continuously hate him? Like I hear more about BS here than anywhere else.

 

I like Bill Simmons the writer a lot. He’s not a good sports takes guy, but I think it’s a mistake to be going to him for that anyway.

 

There's a reason this is the sports thread I'm most active in haha

The Consequences of Caring

 

It’s one of my least favorite things on this site lol. They can bring a bad Simmons take that we all know is bad into the NBA or NFL threads and laugh and subject everyone to them only to go on and give their own extremely Ringer takes and use Simmons vocabulary, it makes no sense

 

Like the amount of times someone in the NBA thread has shit on Simmons/The Ringer and then a couple hours later been like “Are we sure ____ is good???” is insane. Just don’t pay attention to the Ringer! I barely do and it’s nice!

 

Grantland was a beautiful place so I’ll credit Bill Simmons where it’s due
