My friend parks at like a Mexican restaurant and walks 20 mins there and it wasn't too expensive

But he's also a partier and I don't do so anymore so if I go with him I have to uber back anyway haha

If most humans weren't assholes I think I'd find myself wanting to go to games.

  5. Charlotte has their football, baseball, and basketball stadiums/arenas downtown (or uptown if you wanna be a real Charlottean). It’s awesome.

Fenway might be my favorite sporting venue I've been to when it comes to location specifically, that was just such a perfect spot

It’s not about age. I just haven’t fully gotten old and tired because I still don’t have a professional job or a family lol

Imo Denver has their stadiums laid out perfectly, they're all downtown but they're also not right on top of each other like a lot of cities do, so if there's an event at both/all of them it's not a total disaster area

Yeah but watching Jags games with my eventual son or daughter and giving them music lessons will make that worth it all

Though in reality they’ll probably rebel and hate football and playing music lmao

  13. I went to a game at Mile High and I agree with this. Very easy to get in and out of and still in a good spot. Coors area is so sick. I never got to go to a game though.

Philly’s stadiums are all in one spot. They did the best they could. It’s right off the highway, and it’s a few exits away from the airport and a few exits away from downtown, so it has its own traffic flow.

It’s a clusterfuck but honestly Philly is enormous and you can’t escape the fact that event traffic adds at least an hour to your drive. Definitely one of those things - driving to Eagles games is terrible but if you live close enough you don’t have to drive at all

Idk about the north side...but I do know on the south side Eagles game traffic extends past PA and NJ and goes all the way into Delaware

You all know how easy it was for me to go to the Jags stadium. I worked 5 minutes away from home... my work parking lot was one of the water taxi docks, and I got to park for free because I work there... the water taxi goes to Metropolitan Park which borders the stadium.

But, being on the other side of the river, I dealt with zilch traffic to get to the water taxi.

I left as late as noon, AND got home before 5 pm, when I went to 1:00-4:15 games. It legitimately wasn’t any more hassle than going to a sports bar.

Yeah Coors Field area is like the heart of downtown and has a lot of really great bars/dives/music venues around the corner

Yeah Philly and Baltimore both do this.

DC is dumb all of DC’s sports stadiums are in dumb fucking places with horrible traffic management

I get less pissed off creeping on a 6 lane highway in Philly... than sitting at Nationals Park for an hour after I parked because they are trying to funnel all that traffic down a narrow avenue... only to get on 295 which is only 2-3 lanes through DC. The bad infrastructure / city planning makes it so much worse and more frustrating.

At least in Philly they got a lot of lanes to handle the car volume, and they have a very clear and smart plan / path for getting cars out of the parking lot as quickly as possible. I noticed this when I saw Sigur Ros at the Mann Theatre as well.

The hub of Boston travel is the TD Garden. The sox play right in the heart of the city. Gillette Stadium couldn't be more awful to travel to.

I got serious interest in Boston and Chicago. They’re both way too cold for me but at the same time if I graduated programming camp and got offered a strong salary to work in one of those cities? I might jump on it

  21. It's impossible to get out of the Mann you're drunk.

And yeah it's nice the Philly stadiums are all in the same place but it's still not convenient for me. I could drive to the train, take it into downtown, then get on the Broad St line. That sucks. Or I could drive and park at the stadium which also sucks. It would be fine living in certain parts of the city because you can hope on the broad st line or whatever.

NRG is definitely in the right location, it makes events like the Rodeo easy to get in and out of as well

Honestly: living in the suburbs sucks and white flight in the 1950s onward was bad for this country culturally and structurally

We should have strong cities with good schools in them and spend more on mass transit and less on highways... but n0o0o0o0o take funding away if the school isn’t mostly attended by... well, you know.

The Patriots need a stadium near the city that the Revs can use too. It's the only way the Revs will thrive.
