Just surprised that you’d somehow find a way to call Dillinger overrated, then say you’d rather have one of the most commercially successful bands of all time, and I say this as a fan of Metallica’s early music

Honestly, I'm not sure why them being commercially successful has anything to do with it. Maybe I'm biased as well because if it weren't for Metallica I wouldn't have gotten into metal, I'll love them forever. But for whatever reason I've always hated Dillinger.

Very few artists the NFL would actually consider for the halftime show would actually be halfway interesting. Beyonce was always a good call. Prince, Bruce, and Tom Petty were great when they were in their post-nipplegate "let's just hire old male rock stars to be safe" phase. I was pleasantly surprised by the Katy Perry performance and Lady Gaga was fine. As far as "younger" rock bands go, I think Green Day would do a good job and be fun for a Bay Area Super Bowl. But since the next Super Bowl after Miami is another Florida one I dunno who they might go with.

Magic Mike XXL cast performance if I had a vote.

 

Surprised Carrie Underwood hasn’t done it since she already works with the league for the Sunday night song and seems quite popular.

Also wonder if they’ve ever asked Taylor Swift since that would bring in huuuuuuge numbers but cost a lot (LOL oh no billion dollar company has to pay someone for a 20 minute performance LOL)

Or someone like Garth Brooks, I think he’s popular or considered generally “meh” / “whatever” by most people’s standards.

 

I remember liking one of the times Bruno Mars did it, he was great

 

My favorite halftime show for my favorite Super Bowl

 

Part of the sport of the Super Bowl Halftime Show is shitting on whoever they choose, and then them doing a fine at worst job (even if it’s not your thing)

 

That dancing fucking shark from Katy Perry’s show should have become a requirement for all future shows. Just thinking about that thing makes me laugh.

Yeah Katy Perry did it right. Just over the top silliness. She rode a zord in. The beleaguered looking shark. It's probably the most memorable halftime show to me even if Beyonce and Prince were just incredible performances.

 

Prince is my favorite. That solo and the fabric being blown around ruled.

 

The only thing I remember about any superbowl halftime show is my friends dad constantly commenting about how hot Beyoncé is
