I used to work with a guy in his late 50’s who had this happen to him once and he would tell that fucking story about once a week for reasons unknown

 

I’ll be going to see 4-5 different places in person this weekend. Hopefully apply and get everything sewn up to move in late November/early December.

My goal is to have everything moved and new furniture and decorations and shit so I can host Cowboys playoff games watching parties and shit.

 

In my current city they’ve built around 6-7 different apartment complexes over the last year or so and they all start at $1,100 a month which is... way to expensive for most in this city. All of the buildings they’ve built have all had signs advertising openings since they opened.

 

A lot of these places seem pretty open as well.

 

I think Rex needs to get his foot out of his mouth, but mostly because that's his ultimate personal pleasure.

 

I’ve literally never spent more than $800 a month in my adult life.

 

My current place was $850 when I moved in but it’s been a few years and goes up every year and is gonna go up to $1,000 if I renew again, so I’m jumping ship to at least have a way nicer place.

 

my mortgage is under $900 lol

 

My SO and I pay 1700 total for our place, lol

 

House shopping now and my mortgage will be somewhere around $4.5k for a nice modest home. Rent right now is $1,700 for a 1br bungalow lol fuck this place

With 10% down, since it’s impossible to save for 20% in the next few years without being extremely frugal. Anything decent in an area worth buying in that isn’t over a half hour from my office floats around $850k for 2-3bd and ~1100sft

 

Equally considering just renting here for 30yrs and then retiring back to Florida tbh

There’s just no way LA and San Fran are actually worth it. Like I get that California is the GOAT but I’ll settle for like, the 7th or 8th best city in America for literally 1/3 the price

That’s the thing, if I’m gonna buy I’m too picky to live too far outside the city lol. I like living near things to do. You can definitely find cheaper and similarly sized places by sacrificing quality but I don’t want to buy a place I don’t like. It’s not unaffordable for us it’d just be nice to pay less is all.
