I feel like Aikman is a homer when he does Cowboys games, Al Michaels is still good imo. Madden/Summerall were the best though.

Yeah true but if I’m him, the money I’m earning / my lavish lifestyle is separate from my goals on the field. I would LOVE my life and my job and relish my SB ring, but still be salty that I never got a clean chance to be a starter when I played better than a lot of starters most my career

No offense to Gardner Minshew but if you lose your job to a guy like that, you’re probably not actually better than a lot of starters

 

My definition of that is definitely different from yours.

Keep in mind that, to a restaurant server, an accountant who regrets buying a “too big” house in New Jersey has a lavish lifestyle hahaha *wink wink*

 

Please don't make me keep saying Minshew is good I don't wanna say it

 

It’s not like he lost the job in camp. He got hurt and now Minshew is playing WAY WAY better than anyone expected, way better than he looked against BACKUPS in PRESEASON. That’s definitely different than losing a competition.

Minshew is making the most of this opportunity. And showing that his BEST trait as a player - above any physical attributes - is his ability to rise to a challenge and actually become motivated / focused rather than nervous and jittery under pressure.

 

Steelers will trade a 1st for Minshew

One of my favorite YouTube videos is “announcers getting angry”. At one point there’s like a division II game or something and both the announcers are going nuts over the refs calling a backward pass / fumble TD “incomplete”.

One guy is like “there is NO WAY. NO. WAY. Nuts and bolts, we got screwed!!!!”

The other guy is literally screaaaming at the top of his lungs “WHAT! NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!”

Cracks me up. Every time.

The NFL memory I'ma tell my kids in like 15 years is that Vontae Davis retired at halftime of a game because it'll never not be funny to me

 

I just got reminded of Favre losing the NFCCG to the Saints the year Brees won it all

He threw the worst interception omg hahahaha. Game is tied 28-28 with 20 seconds left... they are literally almost in field goal range at the 39 yard line, Favre rolls out to his right. He has two options heading toward the sideline, to check it down and get 5-7 yards and get out of bounds.

He instead throws across his body to the opposite seam, badly underthrows Sidney Rice and gets picked off by Tracy Porter. When getting a field goal and winning would’ve been so easy.

Man, that pissed me off watching that again lmao. Favre winning one with his longtime rival Vikings would’ve been awesome (but he’d probably throw a fatal, boneheaded interception in the SB anyway)

 

I guess whatever the foot issue Cooper was having isn’t as big of a deal as it was portrayed a month or so ago. He’s still elite at route-running and is playing out of his mind so far.

 

Even if Favre completes that pass, that ridiculous pass that you teach every rookie QB to never attempt... it was in the middle of the field with 14 seconds left lmao they might have ran out of time to score
