You arent buying what has undeniably happened? Lol. Andrews has been the top TE so far this year. If you dont want to talk about the first few games then just dont respond haha

 

Saw this story about a high school football team near where I grew up

"The Cougars were beaten 76-0 Friday by Jim Thorpe, a game so out of hand both coaches agreed to end it at halftime.

The Olympians, unbeaten and among the top Class 3A teams in the state, scored at will. They ran 13 offensive plays and scored on seven of them. They intercepted four passes and took three back for scores. They blocked a field goal and ran that back, too.

The Cougars started the game with 18 players in uniform; had they played a second half, coach Joe Moyer said, only 13 would have been available due to injuries incurred during the game."

So basically it was the first game for the East Dillon Lions

 

I do agree that I want to see Andrews play at the level he is playing for the full season before making bold claims, but I also can’t deny that he’s operating as well as any top tight end in the league.

Comparing him to Ertz, Kittle, and Kelce is a little tricky because I don’t think defenses have had a chance to game plan for him like they do these other known elite TEs. Now, DCs will be watching and it’ll be interesting to see if he can keep it up with the defense paying more attention to him.

 

Mark Andrews has had two very good games against two very bad defenses. Like, he’s obviously good but that is certainly jumping the gun

Exactly. You can’t crown ‘em too early. That’s why I’m gonna remain cautiously optimistic about Minshew for now, he’s been very impressive so far... but defenses haven’t yet been treating him like a threat because they’re still stacking the box vs Fournette a lot.

Dude “all-pro” and “best” are not “right now” terms lol. You can do what you want but I reserve titles like that for players that have a large sample size of great performance.

That’s a wild exaggeration. How about we just be more conservative and say “he’s playing out of his mind right now.” Still puts emphasis on how impressed you are without like taking credit away from other TE who have proven they are better for longer

 

Or you could understand the very simple statement that through two games Mark Andrews has been the best tight end in the NFL hahaha

 

“He’s playing like a man possessed” there are a lot of ways to say “damn that guy is looking good” without overdoing it and saying all pro

 

I backed off all pro immediately and doubled down on him being the most impressive TE through two weeks because apparently that's controversial

Andrews hasn’t done anywhere near enough to be considered anywhere near the top of tight ends in the league. He had a good rookie year and has had two good games this year, that’s it.

 

“Best through two games” is just a pointless qualifier to me haha.

“Most impressive” sounds more temporary while “best” sounds like you think he’s firmly at the top based on limited info. I can get behind “most impressive through 2 weeks” but nobody proves they are the best in 2 weeks. Being the “best” is a title while “impressive” is just an adjective.

Semantics I guess. Whatever. Doesn’t matter.

Having two good games doesn’t automatically sling shot a player to the top of their position.

 

Well; the idea that just cause you had the most stats doesn’t mean you performed with the most skill, is why I don’t look at it like that

Harder to make that argument over a whole season, but over just a few games anomalies happen and sometimes players just get hot... sometimes the team notices their opponent isn’t accounting for them enough and targets them until they adjust. Etc

Andrews may have better stats than Kelce right now but I still doubt he can beat man coverage from CBs and bracket / double coverage as often as Kelce if teams targeted him the same way.

 

I'm literally talking about those two games what is so hard to understand here lol.
