Honestly, this is the best outcome. We waste so many draft picks on DBs that dont pan out that the best way for us to hit on one was basically to wait for them to play a year in the NFL and then trade the 1st rounder we would have otherwise wasted for them.

 

Dude, y’all might not see me in this thread at all for awhile if that bullshit happens. I am serious. That would be a damn good reason for me to just take football out of my life and focus on other things.

The Jags have disappointed me in so many ways... but losing the best player we’ve ever had before his rookie deal is even over would be the worst of all of them and something I can’t forgive.

I'm not worried because I REALLY don't think Jalen Ramsey will be gone. I feel like the organization HAS to see some of his concerns and move on from Marrone for a better staff the moment he slips up again. I know it might be naive thinking the Jaguars will side with their player over their coach, but I just feel like they have to know that there are tens of if not hundreds of Marrones out there and only one Jalen Ramsey. You pretty much have to have never watched a football game to not recognize that.

That's all I'll say on that. Just doesn't feel as probable as it seems even given the trade bonanza occurring

 

I hate the city of Philadelphia, it really burns me hearing Eagles fans trash Wentz after he carried the team even though he had to endure a lot of bullshit on Sunday night.

 

Counterpoint - Grant Delpit is already a better pro player than Minkah and would have five years left on his contract.

I feel you on that. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, I like our Ramsey-Hopkins head to heads and legit don't want that to change despite any competitive edge that would happen. Would much rather him stay put and Marrone go.

Why a coaching change? How is any of this Flores' fault?

 

Flores knew what he was getting into with this AND they gave him a 5 year deal. I highly, highly doubt he is going anywhere for at least 2 more years.

 

Good. I'll be PISSED if somehow he catches the rap for a tanking team. He's a good coach who deserves a legitimate chance.

 

Counter counter point - steelers cannot develop DBs so having one that hasn't been ruined by the steelers is valuable

Eh. It’s somewhere in the middle. He’s better than any of the CB they would’ve drafted but honestly he had already started declining when the Browns got rid of him. He hasn’t been a shut down corner in years.

 

Yeah he for sure hasn't been a shutdown guy, I just feel like when I watch him he's still comparably good versus like...any CB the Steelers have developed

 

Which adds value in getting a developed defensive back

 

Steelers just make bad draft decisions at DB, they take way too many aggressive guys who rely on their athleticism and not nearly enough guys who show discipline early on in college
