i feel like Silver and the league is just gonna press on once everyone is there unless a few big names get it and have to miss time. feels like once teams are there the excuse will be, "well, we're already here! might as well keep on!"

  2. And then someone dies and then what?

I think we all generally agree that this is a horrendous idea and should not be happening, but i legitimately dont think there is anything thats going to stop this train right now, even if it ends up meaning a team of replacement players wins the title.

It’s a flawed plan in an impossible situation, but I have trouble saying that it should not be happening.

it shouldn't be an asterisk regardless of the circumstances, because that is the dumbest talking point in sports lol

Asterisk if a team I don't like wins it, no asterisk if a team I like wins it

What if a team is one day named the Asterisks and they win the title. Then it is safe to call it an “asterisk title”

My great clever joke of the day. You’re welcome.

I think if a player dies they might stop doing this. If a player dies and they keep going, that's an asterisk for me.

If a player DIES and they keep going I'm burning my Giannis NYK Jersey and never watching the NBA again.

    Make Post Play Great Again!

I just finished reading Sprawlball by Kirk Goldsberry (I know I'm late, it came out a year or so ago). It made me realize how much they have eliminated big guys from the game. This is coming from a Rockets fan and I know the Rockets have built their roster completely around the fact that shooting a bunch of threes is the most efficient way to score. But I also reminisce about the Hakeem days and the way that he dominated the post. It's inefficient to dump it into the big guy down low and the most productive centers now are either stretch 5s or guys that can execute the pick and roll game as lob finishers at the rim.

Why do we keep making rules to make big guys less efficient (allowing contact when guys post up, widening the key so they can't camp out down there, etc.) while making no changes to the fact that every valuable wing guy in the league can hit a catch and shoot three?

I think it's time to revisit the rules and encourage teams like Phoenix to dump it in to Ayton. I'm rambling, but some of the beauty of basketball is being thrown away for the purpose of three pointers being the most efficient way to score.
